At North State Bank, we're looking for a detail-oriented ACH Specialist to play a key role in the secure and efficient movement of electronic payments. In this position, you will manage and monitor Automated Clearing House (ACH) transactions, ensuring payments are processed accurately, on time, and in compliance with regulatory requirements and internal controls. A Day in the Life of an ACH Specialist At North State Bank, our ACH Specialists play a critical role in keeping electronic payments moving safely, accurately, and on time. Your Morning You begin your day reviewing ACH file activity, processing incoming and outgoing files, and ensuring payments are handled accurately according to daily schedules. You monitor transactions carefully to help mitigate risk and verify that electronic payments are processed in compliance with NACHA rules, banking regulations, and internal policies. Midday: Supporting Offices and Teams Throughout the day, you communicate with offices and business partners regarding ACH returns, notifications of change, and payment issues. You research and resolve returns, disputes, and exceptions while providing guidance on ACH processes and best practices. Behind the Scenes Much of your work focuses on monitoring activity and maintaining operational controls. You review originator usage, monitor return thresholds and trends, update ACH reporting platforms, support customer onboarding and offboarding, maintain Third-Party Sender registrations, and assist with audits and compliance reviews.
