THE POSITION

The County Social Casework Intern with Clearfield County Children, Youth and Family Services plays an important role in helping families stay safe and supported. This internship gives you real experience while you learn how to help children and families through challenging situations. You will grow new skills each day as you work with trained professionals. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This internship provides supervised training in social casework while supporting services for children and families. You will assist caseworkers as they assess needs, plan services, and help families move toward stability. As a County Social Casework Intern, you will perform the following duties:

  • Intake Support: Assist with receiving and documenting new referrals for services
  • Assessment Skills: Help gather information to understand family needs and safety concerns
  • Service Planning: Take part in developing plans that guide services for children and families
  • Family Interaction: Work with families and children under supervision to support their goals
  • Case Assistance: Support caseworkers with related tasks needed for case progress

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Enrollment as a full time student in a bachelor's degree program in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, or other related behavioral science, and completion of 75 credits, including completion of 15 credits in one of the listed majors.

Other Requirements:

  • PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:

  • This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
    • Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
