THE POSITION

Join the Beaver Mental Health & Intellectual Disabilities unit as a County Caseworker 2 and help people navigate important life opportunities. This role empowers you to guide individuals toward employment, housing, and fuller community involvement. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position focuses on supporting individuals with developmental disabilities as they work toward personal goals and greater independence. The role involves coordinating services, fostering community connections, and maintaining essential support plans. As a County Caseworker 2, you will perform the following duties:

  • Service Coordination: Coordinate needed supports and connect individuals with community resources
  • Plan Development: Develop and update Individual Support Plans based on changing needs
  • Community Engagement: Work within the community and collaborate with families, schools, and providers
  • Progress Monitoring: Track service effectiveness and ensure supports are meeting established goals
  • Documentation Skills: Maintain accurate records using strong writing, typing, and computer abilities

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
  • Full-time employment.
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 1-hour lunch.
    • This position may need to work outside standard work hours to accommodate and meet the needs of families.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Six months of experience as a County Caseworker 1; or
  • Successful completion of the County Social Casework Intern program; or
  • A bachelor's degree with a social welfare major; or
  • A bachelor's degree which includes or is supplemented by 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences and one year of professional social casework experience in a public or private social service agency; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training which includes 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences.
  • Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within two months of graduating with a qualifying degree/credits.

Other Requirements:
  • PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
