As a Security Officer Access Control Officer in Norfolk, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries. Join Allied Universal as an Access Control Officer supporting a dynamic campus location. In this role, you will help manage entry points, verify credentials, assist students, staff, and visitors, and help to deter security-related incidents through a visible presence and strong communication. Pay Rate: $16.50 / Hour

Job Schedule:

What You'll Do:

Provide customer service by carrying out access control procedures, site-specific policies, and/or appropriate emergency response activities at a university location.
• Monitor entrances and exits, verify identification and credentials, and help to control authorized access for students, staff, visitors, and/or vendors.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and report security-related concerns according to site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols around buildings, common areas, and perimeter locations to help to identify unusual activity and/or policy violations.
• Document visitor activity, deliveries, and security-related incidents, and communicate relevant information to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.

Minimum Requirements:

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
