About the Role:

Reporting directly to the Fulfillment Operations Manager, the Global Logistics Specialist will act as the key driver for daily transportation operations and carrier relations. In this role, you will help secure carrier contracts, negotiate competitive pricing, and partner closely with logistics providers to ensure seamless, on-time delivery of orders worldwide.

Key Responsibilities:

Trade Compliance & Regulatory Oversight

  • Regulatory Alignment: Track, interpret, and execute changes in global trade laws and compliance standards across various international jurisdictions (including import/export controls, sanctions, FCPA, and GDPR).
  • Policy Management: Develop, implement, and audit internal compliance guidelines and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure audit-readiness.
  • Tariff & Custom Auditing: Classify products using the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) and Export Control Classification Numbers (ECCN). Audit US customs entries to verify proper declaration of HTS codes, country of origin, manufacturing details, Free Trade Agreements (FTAs), and duty rates.

Logistics & Shipment Management

  • End-to-End Coordination: Oversee international shipments from initial booking through final delivery. Manage all manual documentation, including shipment quantities, transport methods, and lead times to ensure cost-effectiveness.
  • Vendor Relations: Manage operational partnerships with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and third-party logistics (3PL) providers, swiftly resolving customs clearance or shipping challenges as they arise.
  • Financial Oversight: Provide accurate shipping quotes, recommend highly efficient transport modes, and generate detailed freight reports to track shipment status, transit times, and freight spend.

Internal Enablement & Continuous Improvement

  • Training & Advisory: Design and deliver trade compliance and logistics training for fulfillment associates, focusing on customs valuation, Incoterms, and origin concepts.
  • Data-Driven Insights: Identify supply chain trends, initiate corrective actions, and prepare regular executive summaries and freight reports for leadership.
  • Internal Support: Serve as a subject matter expert, offering guidance and policy support to internal teams.

Qualifications

  • Education & Credentials: Bachelor's degree in International Business, Supply Chain Management, Finance, Law, or a related field (Master's degree is a plus). Professional certifications such as Certified Customs Specialist (CCS), Licensed Customs Broker (LCB), or Certified Global Business Professional (CGBP) are highly preferred.
  • Industry Experience: Proven hands-on experience navigating import/export regulations, customs clearance, and global trade documentation (commercial invoices, packing slips, certificates of origin, etc.). Experience supporting Canada and Latin American (LATAM) markets is a strong plus.
  • Regulatory Expertise: In-depth knowledge of international trade regulations, including EAR, ITAR, OFAC sanctions, and country-specific import/export laws.
  • Systems & Tools: Proficiency with trade compliance software and major ERP platforms (Odoo, SAP, Oracle, or similar).

You should be a polished, relationship-driven professional capable of translating complex regulatory requirements into actionable business steps and presenting updates to cross-functional teams and executive leadership.
  • Operational Execution: Outstanding customer service and logistics operations experience. Must have a high level of accuracy under tight deadlines and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure global environment.
