Procurement Coordinator Education Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Associate degree or higher in Business, Supply Chain, Procurement, Logistics, or a related field preferred.
- An equivalent combination of education and relevant procurement or inventory experience will be considered.
Procurement Coordinator Job Duties
- Coordinate food procurement activities through donations, retail partnerships, grant-funded purchases, and USDA programs.
- Manage relationships with community partners and retail donors to support consistent food recovery efforts.
- Coordinate the acquisition of donated food products and ensure proper documentation and tracking.
- Place and manage food orders using available funding sources and program guidelines.
- Support USDA food procurement processes while maintaining compliance with reporting requirements.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and assist with database updates, receiving, and product tracking.
- Monitor inventory levels to support efficient food distribution and reduce shortages.
- Assist warehouse operations by unloading, organizing, and storing food products as needed.
- Ensure food products are handled, stored, and maintained according to safety and sanitation standards.
- Collaborate with internal teams, vendors, donors, and community partners to support food distribution goals.
- Perform additional procurement, inventory, and warehouse support duties as assigned.
Procurement Coordinator Experience Requirements
- At least one year of administrative, office support, receptionist, or clerical experience preferred.
- Experience in procurement, purchasing, inventory management, warehouse operations, or supply chain coordination preferred.
- Experience working with food programs, nonprofit organizations, retail partnerships, or community service organizations is a plus.
- Strong relationship-building and communication skills with the ability to work with donors, vendors, and internal teams.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
- Basic data entry and computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office preferred.
- Experience using inventory management systems is preferred.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to follow compliance requirements and procedures.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
Procurement Coordinator Physical Capabilities
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and move food products and supplies weighing up to 40 pounds.
- Ability to assist with warehouse activities, including unloading, organizing, and storing inventory.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and move throughout warehouse and office environments.
- Ability to work in warehouse conditions, including varying temperatures and active storage areas.
- Ability to follow food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety requirements.
- Valid driver's license preferred for transportation-related duties as needed.
