Production Operator Education Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Technical training or manufacturing education is beneficial.



Production Operator Skills Requirements

  • Experience operating centerless grinding, manufacturing, or production equipment.
  • Ability to read work instructions, production schedules, and basic technical documentation.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to monitor equipment for proper operation.
  • Ability to perform quality inspections and maintain production standards.
  • Commitment to workplace safety, attention to detail, and dependable attendance.
  • Ability to read blueprints and use precision measuring instruments.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Manufacturing or machine shop experience.



Production Operator Physical Capabilities

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive production tasks throughout the shift.
  • Ability to lift materials, components, or finished products weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to safely operate manufacturing equipment while maintaining awareness of moving machinery.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment and work safely in a manufacturing environment.


Production Operator Job Duties

  • Set up and operate centerless grinding machines.
  • Load and unload metal parts.
  • Adjust machine settings for size, tolerance, and surface finish.
  • Measure parts using micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
  • Perform quality inspections and document results.
  • Replace grinding wheels and perform basic machine maintenance.
  • Read blueprints and work orders.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area.
