Machine Operator Education Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Technical training, manufacturing coursework, or equipment certifications preferred but not required.
- An equivalent combination of education, training, and manufacturing experience will be considered.
Machine Operator Skills + Experience Requirements
- Manufacturing, machine operation, production, or industrial equipment experience preferred.
- Experience operating machinery or automated production equipment is strongly preferred.
- Experience with equipment troubleshooting, maintenance, or mechanical problem-solving preferred.
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and industrial equipment is preferred.
- Experience maintaining production logs, quality records, or process documentation is preferred.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations and accurately record measurements.
- Basic computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft 365 and Windows operating systems.
- Ability to follow detailed safety procedures, work instructions, and quality standards.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify process or quality issues.
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability and willingness to learn new equipment and processes.
- Forklift or scissor lift experience preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of metal types or metal processing is a plus.
Machine Operator Job Duties
- Operate production equipment, including sieving systems, blenders, and other machinery used to process granular metal powders.
- Perform full production workflows including sieving, weighing, blending, packaging, labeling, and documentation of metal powders.
- Follow established safety procedures and quality standards when handling and packaging manufactured materials.
- Monitor equipment sensors, process conditions, and production data to ensure product specifications are met.
- Accurately record production information, quality measurements, and process data in required logs.
- Perform equipment maintenance tasks including disassembly, cleaning, inspection, and reassembly.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues and assist with repairs to minimize production downtime.
- Use hand tools and power tools safely for equipment adjustments and maintenance activities.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe production area.
- Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs), safety guidelines, and quality requirements.
- Support continuous improvement efforts by identifying process issues and improvement opportunities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Machine Operator Physical Capabilities
- Ability to stand and walk throughout a manufacturing facility for extended periods.
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks requiring hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
- Ability to bend, stoop, reach, and move materials as needed.
- Ability to lift, carry, and handle materials used in production processes.
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including steel-toe shoes, safety glasses, hearing protection, and respiratory protection when required.
- Ability to work around loud noises, moving machinery, and metal powder materials.
- Ability to maintain focus and accuracy during repetitive production tasks.
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including shifts, weekends, and holidays as production demands require.
