Your Role

As a Project Manager at Gensler, you will lead the successful delivery of Core & Shell projects from pursuit through construction, balancing design excellence, client service, and financial performance. You'll build trusted client relationships, drive new business opportunities, and lead multidisciplinary teams to deliver exceptional projects on schedule and within budget.

What You Will Do

  • Lead multiple Core & Shell projects through all phases, from programming and design through construction administration.
  • Serve as the primary client contact, building strong relationships and ensuring project goals are met.
  • Collaborate with clients, consultants, contractors, and stakeholders to drive project success.
  • Manage project schedules, budgets, staffing, contracts, and overall project performance.
  • Oversee proposals, fee negotiations, project planning, and consultant coordination.
  • Guide projects through permitting, regulatory reviews, and approvals, coordinating with jurisdictions and Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs).
  • Monitor financial performance and ensure compliance with contractual requirements.
  • Lead bidding and procurement processes.
  • Establish clear project objectives and communicate expectations across teams.
  • Champion sustainable, resilient design solutions aligned with firmwide goals.
  • Mentor and develop emerging talent while fostering a collaborative, integrated design culture.

Your Qualifications

  • 10-15+ years of experience in architecture, design, or related commercial project delivery, including experience as a Project Manager.
  • Proven experience delivering Core & Shell projects within Government, Higher Education, Professional and Financial Services.
  • Demonstrated success leading projects of varying size and complexity through all phases.
  • Strong client relationship management, business development, and team leadership skills.
  • Experience managing project scope, budgets, schedules, contracts, and fee negotiations.
  • Strong understanding of building codes, permitting processes, zoning requirements, regulatory approvals, and multi-jurisdictional review processes.
  • Ability to coordinate with permitting agencies, building officials, and regulatory stakeholders to secure project approvals.
  • Commitment to sustainable design and experience integrating sustainability strategies into projects.
  • Professional degree in Architecture from an accredited program.
  • Licensed/Registered Architect preferred; LEED accreditation is a plus.
  • Proven ability to mentor, coach, and develop high-performing teams.
