The ideal candidate is someone with a solid foundation in industrial automation and controls, but more importantly, someone who brings curiosity, accountability, and a positive attitude to work every day. This position is part of the Facilities Engineering team and plays a critical role in supporting manufacturing operations within a heavy industrial environment. The successful candidate will work closely with operations, maintenance, and engineering personnel to improve equipment reliability, resolve technical issues, and implement automation and process improvements. Key Responsibilities Support manufacturing operations by troubleshooting and resolving controls, automation, and process-related issues. Partners with maintenance, operations, and engineering teams to improve equipment reliability, safety, and performance. Assist with programming, troubleshooting, and maintaining PLC-based control systems. Support setup, tuning, and optimization of PID control loops and other process control systems. Diagnose issues involving instrumentation, sensors, drives, HMIs, networking, and industrial automation equipment. Participate in root cause investigations and corrective action efforts related to equipment downtime or process disruptions. Develop and maintain controls documentation, standards, drawings, and procedures. Support capital projects, equipment upgrades, and new system installations. Identify opportunities to improve manufacturing efficiency, equipment uptime, and process consistency. Promote a culture of safety, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement. Required Qualifications Must be a U.S. Person as defined in CFR 120.62 Fundamental understanding of industrial control systems and automation principles. Familiarity with PLCs, HMIs, industrial networking, instrumentation, and process control systems. Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams in a heavy industrial manufacturing environment. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related technical field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience with Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Schneider, or similar PLC platforms. Experience with variable frequency drives (VFDs), motor control systems, instrumentation, and process automation equipment. Exposure to SCADA systems, industrial networking, or manufacturing data systems. Experience supporting manufacturing, foundry, metals, aerospace, or other heavy industrial operations. Experience managing or supporting controls-related projects from concept through implementation.
