What you will accomplish as a Human Resource Generalist TAPCO:
The fundamental responsibility of this position is to ensure a positive experience for all new and existing employees related to wellness, benefits, payroll, safety and policy administration and interpretation with an emphasis on education and improvement. In addition, this role will bring in the best talent to support ongoing business needs with a focus on non-exempt positions and supports the hiring of exempt level staffing. This position promotes TAPCO and career opportunities at a variety of venues and creatives vehicles to encourage ongoing candidate interest. This position coordinates, supports and continuously improves the administrative functions, data needs and compliance of Human Resources. This position works professionally with all areas of the company and maintains confidentiality in all areas of responsibility. This position reports directly to the Director of Human Resources.
Duties and Responsibilities
Duties listed below may vary in terms of importance and other duties may be added or eliminated as this position develops.
- Recruit exempt and non-exempt positions by advertising, sourcing, interviewing, extending offers and following up with internal and external candidates Tracks applicants and provides ongoing staffing support for exempt managerial positions.
- Coordinates and improves the on boarding process and experience with new staff and department managers and completes new employee orientation process including policy review and collecting new hire information.
- Enrolls and dis enrolls employees into benefit plans and coordinates enrollment of the 401k plan. Maintains accurate insurance data and produces necessary reports. Completes insurance related surveys and recommends updates or changes.
- Administers, promotes and recommends employee wellness program with outside vendor(s) and internal committees (i.e. Fun committee.)
- Assists in a variety of compliance related programs, filings and reports i.e. EEO, ACA, OSHA, DOT, FMLA.
- Creates and/or reviews job descriptions for new positions or updates existing job descriptions.
- Coordinates biweekly time cards and researches and processes a variety of payroll information such as garnishments, wage adjustments, time off requests and other payroll changes into ADP.
- Coordinate and maintains information and relationships with a variety of insurance vendors.
- Manages and maintains accuracy of data in HRIS system and produces customized and standard reports in support of Human Resources metrics and in support of manager requests. Recommends new functions and features.
- Resolves employees' questions and issues related to benefits, payroll and policy interpretation and communicates directly with staff.
- Works to promote diversity and inclusion
- Performs a variety of administrative responsibilities including creating, organizing and filing employee information and setting up meetings.
- Adheres to all safety policies and procedures.
- Performs other responsibilities and special projects as assigned

Required Experience
- Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field and/or certification
- Professional or Strategic Human Resources certification preferred
- Minimum of 1-3 years' job experience in Human Resources department preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Minimum of 2 year's job experience in employee relations
- Prior experience working for a growing company
- Prior administration of compliance related reporting
- Prior training and development experience a plus
- Strong customer service experience over the telephone and one-on-one
- Strong interpersonal skills working with staff and management
- Excellent computer skills - business application, Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, HRIS system
- Demonstrated experience working with and maintaining confidential information
- Demonstrated experience coordinating, organizing and managing projects and information
