Responsibilities:
- Build guest and team member positive relations
- Participates and conducts departmental meetings.
- Ensure consistent high-quality service to all our team members and guests.
- Establish standards and procedures for work of the Housekeeping staff and ensure successful implementation.
- Plan work schedules to ensure adequate service.
- Inspect and evaluate physical condition of establishment.
- Submit to management recommendations for painting, repairs, and furnishings, relocation of equipment and reallocation of space.
- Investigate new and improved cleaning instruments and methods.
- Establish standards and procedures for in-house laundry facilities. Monthly Analyze production and profitability. Report tracked results to director results.
- Supervision of housekeeping team, but not limited to disciplinary actions, training and schedules.
- Develop and maintain high standards of operations with respect to guest interactions. Implement strategies for continuous improvement.
- Weekly create training programs for existing staff to focus on areas needing improvement.
- Performance shop Housekeepers to ensure service standards are being met. Track results. Coach individuals on performance to ensure consistent growth. Track and post department scores.
- Ensure standard policies and procedures of the Casino Queen Hotel are consistently applied.
- Responsible for training and direction of new department employees.
- Complete employee work schedules two weeks in advance ensuring proper staffing based upon demand. Daily make necessary adjustments based upon changes in demand, check in or check outs to ensure property remains profitable.
- Respond to all guest requests, complaints and/or incidents presented in regard to Housekeeping by the way of phone calls and or in person in an attentive, courteous and efficient manner. Follow up to ensure guest satisfaction in a timely manner. Put programs in place to reduce incidents.
- Work closely with the Hotel Director to assist in monitoring other departments, such as Front Office and Maintenance. Track opportunities on a monthly basis and share with director.
- Oversee the tracking of attendance and coach employees based on property policy.
- Conduct inventory analysis weekly and order items to ensure we stay at par levels.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Should read, write, speak and understand English.
- Should have proper phone etiquette, people and strong communication skills.
- Should have an extensive knowledge of all job duties performed by housekeeping team members.
- Should have a good working knowledge of chemicals, carpet & floor care and maintenance equipment relating to Housekeeping.
- Minimum two-years experience in a high volume Hotel environment.
- High School or G.E.D. Equivalent preferred.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL EFFORTS
- The hospitality industry is a 24 Hour 365-day operation.
- This position will primarily be indoors under controlled temperatures.
- Occasional exposure to outdoor climates
- Occasional: standing, walking, lifting up to 30 pounds
- Frequent: sitting, kneeling, reaching, pulling, pushing, and with repetitive movement of fingers, legs, arms, and hands
- Speech and Vision abilities are required.
Target Pay Rate: $20.00
