Description

We are seeking a dedicated, self-motivated Senior Maintenance Mechanic to manage the upkeep, repair, and preventative maintenance of our packaging machinery and facility systems. In this role, you will perform emergency repairs, routine servicing, and complex troubleshooting on automated packaging, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical equipment to minimize downtime and keep operations running smoothly.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Troubleshooting & Emergency Repair: Independently diagnose and repair mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical failures on high-speed bottling and packaging machinery with minimal supervision.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Maintain, overhaul, and tune high-speed packaging lines, including fillers, cappers, labelers, conveyors, and palletizers.
  • Electrical Diagnostics: Execute basic-to-intermediate electrical troubleshooting on sensors, relays, photo-eyes, motor controls, and wiring ranging from 120V to 480V.
  • System Component Upkeep: Repair and maintain plant utilities, including industrial pumps, motors, and variable frequency drives (VFDs).
  • Conveyor Systems: Install, modify, and service various conveyor configurations, including roller, belt, chain, and Intralox systems.
  • Preventative Maintenance (PM): Perform routine safety inspections and scheduled PM tasks using our CMMS software (Maintenance Care) to track work orders and document repairs.
  • Fabrication & Installation: Utilize shop tools, welding, and fabrication machinery to modify equipment and build custom fixtures for facility upgrades.
  • Continuous Improvement: Support machinery relocations, line optimizations, and equipment installations to boost production efficiency.



KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:



  • Experience: 5+ years of mechanical maintenance experience in a high-speed packaging or manufacturing environment (Food, Beverage, or Chemical manufacturing experience highly preferred).
  • Technical Skills: Strong working knowledge of industrial mechanical systems, pneumatics, hydraulics, power transmission, and basic industrial electricity (120V-480V).
  • Software: Experience logging work orders and managing PMs via a CMMS software platform.
  • Core Competencies: Strong critical thinking, diagnostic capability, and adaptability to shift priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Safety & Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a strong commitment to plant safety standards (e.g., Lockout/Tagout, OSHA compliance).


WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Work is performed in a manufacturing setting with machinery. Physical essential functions of the job include but are not limited to: standing or sitting for long periods of time, bending, reaching, and moving around machinery. Lifting up to 50 lbs on a regular basis. Ability to consistently work in extreme temperatures.
