What You'll Do

As Operations Director, you'll steer people, projects, and performance for a business unit-aligning resources to workload, elevating quality and client satisfaction, and partnering with finance, HR, and marketing to drive predictable, profitable delivery.



  • Assist the Business Unit Leader in planning, recruiting, selecting, and providing training for staff.
  • Supervise preparation of routine proposals/quotations to ensure proper scope, staffing availability, and profitable pricing.
  • Manage staffing levels and utilization across the service line by tracking performance statistics and reallocating resources.
  • Maintain proper staffing and skill levels for current and future needs in line with goals; assign work based on client needs, project type, workload, and staff abilities.
  • Maintain service relationships with major longterm clients and ensure client satisfaction.
  • Supervise/monitor projects in progress to ensure ontime execution, adherence to client requirements, and compliance with company policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Be responsible for the quality of work performed within the business unit; ensure adherence to QA/QC policies and procedures.
  • Create and support an environment of collaboration and engagement; maintain consistency and cohesion across offices and staff.
  • Resolve disputes and conflicts within or across business units; implement process improvements to alleviate future issues.
  • Approve timesheets and expense reports per company policies and project allocations.
  • Evaluate staff performance; provide salary and bonus recommendations; plan and execute employee development plans with clear goals.
  • Supervise administrative systems to ensure reports, proposals, field visits, and client service information are properly prepared and reported.
  • Ensure routine company administrative policies are followed (timesheets, expense reports, purchase orders).
  • Support development of new business markets and opportunities; actively engage in industry professional activities to promote the firm's technical reputation.
  • Perform other duties as needed.



Who We're Looking For

Minimum Requirements:



  • Bachelor's degree AND fourteen years of relevant experience
  • Eight years of experience specifically in project management


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and web browsers; familiarity with industryspecific software.
  • Knowledge of contracts, project management, resource allocation, and applicable codes; strong business acumen.
  • Clear written communication and speech clarity; effective presentations to clients and executives.
  • Judgment, decisionmaking, and problem solving; ability to see issues early and drive effective solutions.
  • Team building, interpersonal collaboration, personnel management, and mentoring skills across multioffice teams.
  • Leadership that sets vision, aligns stakeholders, and balances competing priorities to achieve results.
