Title:Regional Affairs Manager POSITION CONCEPT This position is responsible for developing, cultivating, and managing strategic relationships with elected officials, governmental staff, business and community leaders, community associations, property management firms, and customers for Tampa Electric. Promotes the successful achievement of company financial goals and quick return on investment through the Storm Protection Plan (SPP) clause. This position supports operations including permits, outreach on SPP projects, assistance with customer matters and emergency response functions. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
SUPERVISION Indirect Supervision: Provides leadership across the department and company through consulting and sharing expertise. RELATIONSHIPS Key Internal: Regulatory Affairs, Customer Experience and Economic Development, Regional Affairs, Energy Delivery, Legal, Real Estate, Business Strategy and Communications & Marketing. Key External: Local Government Policymakers and Staff, Regulatory Agencies, Community associations, property management firms, Business Community and Economic Development Organizations, Non-Profits QUALIFICATIONS Education Required: Minimum of A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college in Political Science, Business or any other related field of study is required. Preferred: MBA or other graduate degree in the above fields Licenses/Certifications Preferred: PMP or CPM certification Related Experience Required: Minimum of six years of related experience related to a portion of the Duties & Responsibilities of this position is required. Preferred: Experience working in a utility industry as in a capacity that deals with local governments and regulatory agencies, community and special interest groups, public policy and/or experience working for a local or state elected official, municipality or agency as a political consultant or in similar work for a business or association or other experience related to the position is an advantage. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities (KSA) Required: Knowledge of governmental processes at local, state or federal level. Ability to understand complex regulatory and legislative issues. Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills also required. Preferred: Knowledge of the utility sector.
