UCI Nature offers UC Irvine faculty and students opportunities to bring their research, scholarship, teaching, public service, and career development into natural environments across a wide range of settings characteristic of California. UC Irvine directly oversees four protected natural areas, two of which include lodging facilities and are approximately a three-hour drive from Irvine, and two of which are within walking distance of campus. UCI Nature also maintains partnership agreements that facilitate access to additional natural areas and facilities not directly managed by the University. Together, these field-based assets span regional gradients across environments ranging from the ocean to the desert, as well as a diversity of societal contexts, all within a few hours of campus. This system of assets available to UC Irvine faculty and students is connected on a larger scale to the systemwide UC Natural Reserve System (UCNRS). The UCNRS is the largest university-operated reserve system in the world, encompassing 39 sites and 756,000 acres. It is a Trustee Agency under the California Environmental Quality Act and manages these resources in the public trust. Each UC campus participates in the governance and management of the entire UCNRS network, in addition to systemwide staff.

This is a hybrid position requiring 2-3 days per week onsite. Provides administrative, financial, and operational management for UCI Nature and its reserve sites. Oversees budgeting, financial reporting, procurement, facilities and space logistics, recharge administration, and contract and grant support. Serves as an administrative resource for faculty, staff, students, and external stakeholders, ensuring compliance with university policies, safeguarding university resources, supporting strategic planning, and facilitating the effective operation of research, educational, and public programs across multiple reserve locations. Travel to reserve locations is required a few times per year as needed.

Required:

• Thorough knowledge of University rules and regulations, processes, protocols and procedures for budget, accounting and fund management, and / or personnel management.
• Interpersonal skills including verbal and written communication, active listening, critical thinking, persuasiveness, advising and counseling skills.
• Knowledge of a variety of administrative operational activities such as event planning, basic fundraising processes, risk management planning, website design, accounting and payroll, and contracts and grants regulations and guidelines.
• Solid knowledge of common University-specific computer application programs.
• Ability to use discretion and maintain confidentiality.
• Strong skills in short-term planning, analysis, problem-solving, and customer service.
• Thorough knowledge of financial analysis and reporting techniques, and / or human resources policies and procedures for staff and academic employees.
• Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training
• 3-5 years related experience

The expected pay range for this recruitment is $81,766.08 - $110,037.60 (Annual).
