What to Expect
Tesla is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Analytical Chemist to join our team at the Tesla Refinery Operations in Robstown, Texas. This position will report to the Process Technology Manager and will play a vital role in implementing process improvements to drive operational excellence (OpEx). Focus will be on supporting the Quality Control Laboratory (QC Lab) in developing and implementing analytical methods for process and quality control for the refinery. Join us in revolutionizing the battery materials refining industry and contributing to Tesla's mission 'to build a world of amazing abundance.'

What You'll Do
  • Key member of the team to develop analytical chemistry methods in support of refinery operations
  • Identify analysis technologies and methods to support technology team in solving process challenges
  • Identify improvement opportunities for QC Lab efficiency and throughput
  • Propose and implement process improvement to improve plant performance
  • Team player comfortable collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify and implement OpEx opportunities throughout the refining process

What You'll Bring
  • Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or equivalent experience
  • 2-5 years industry experience: chemical laboratory instrumentation, and process improvement; chemical manufacturing experience necessary
  • Comfortable entering the manufacturing plant to observe processes and diagnose issues first-hand, using 1st principles and analytical chemistry tools
  • Familiarity with ISO9001 and/or Lean Six Sigma.Relevant qualifications are a plus
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with demonstrated ability to analyze complex issues and develop innovative solutions
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities
