Job Title: Purchasing Specialist
Location: El Mirage, AZ
Employment Type: Temp to Perm (contract initially)
Industry: Manufacturing
Compensation: $30-36/hr
Schedule: M-F, flexible start time between 7:30am-9am, 40 hours per week onsite
About the Opportunity:
We are looking for a detail-oriented and results-driven Production Buyer with a strong background in procurement and supply chain coordination within a manufacturing setting. Adept at managing vendor relationships and ensuring timely delivery of materials and services to support seamless production workflows. Skilled in balancing costefficiency with inventory control, and deadline adherence. Proven ability to work cross-functionally with production planning and logistics teams to optimize procurement strategies and reduce delays or budget overruns.
What You'll Do:
  • This personnel will work closely with manufacturing/engineering personnel to support existing production lines, internal processes, and understands the fabrication of products.
  • Identify production requirements and create procurement plans in line with schedules and budgets.
  • Source, evaluate, and purchase materials needed for production activities.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors, negotiating contracts and pricing to secure favorable terms.
  • Monitor costs and identify opportunities for savings without compromising on quality or deadlines.
  • Track stock levels and ensure the timely delivery of goods to avoid production delays.
  • Ensure purchased items meet quality and compliance standards; handle returns or issues as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of purchases, contracts, delivery schedules, and supplier performance.

Job Requirements
What You'll Bring:
A High School diploma or equivalent and 3 or more years of relevant work experience.
What Sets You Apart:
Certification in ERP systems or specified business area is a plus; ideal candidate has Oracle Fusion experience Should be computer savvy and enjoy working in a hands-on environment in a manufacturing setting.
Must be a team player able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to handle multiple competing tasks and demands
Demonstrates a serious commitment to accuracy and quality while meeting goals and deadlines
Strong communication skills; oral, written and presentation
Strong organization, planning and time management skills to achieve results
Strong personal and professional ethical values and integrity
Holds self-accountable to achieving goals and standards
Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
Strong interpersonal & collaboration skills to work effectively with all levels of the organization including suppliers and/or external customers
