Supervisor School Based Telehealth

The Supervisor School Based Telehealth plans, develops, and organizes various clinical and administrative activities in the practice to ensure the effective and efficient delivery of quality health care to students at SBTH clinics. Working under limited supervision by a member of the SBTH leadership team, this role plays a key role in the onboarding and site training of telepresenters. In addition, the role provides ongoing supervision and site support to telepresenters to facilitate positive outcomes in the care of the student populations served by SBTH.

Essential Function:

  • Manages and evaluates the work of telepresenters to ensure adherence to quality standards and regulations.

  • Provides onboarding, orientation, and process training for new telepresenters, ensuring competency in clinical workflows, documentation, and telehealth protocols.

  • Supervises the process of patient care delivery, to maintain a high standard of care and patient satisfaction and safety.

  • Monitors clinic practices for alignment with SBTH pathways, organizational policies, and state and federal guidelines.

  • Collaborates with operational and clinical leadership to support continuous improvement initiatives related to training, workflows, and staff competencies.

  • Serves as a role model and advocate for compliance with organizational policies, procedures, and regulatory standards; educates staff on updates and best practices.

  • Coordinates and distributes educational materials, outreach resources, and clinic supplies across multiple school-based clinics within an assigned zone or geographic area.

  • Conducts regular monthly site visits and weekly team huddles to monitor performance, provide coaching, and support consistent, high-quality service delivery.

  • Acts as the primary point of contact for telepresenter and clinic site with questions or concerns, escalating issues to leadership as appropriate.

  • Supports urgent clinic needs and facilitates timely communication between sites and SBTH providers, clinical RN manager, and medical directors to ensure safe and effective student care.

  • Ensures clinic spaces, equipment, and supplies are adequately maintained and operational to support daily telehealth services.

  • Performs additional leadership and operational duties as assigned to support program success.

Education:

  • Required: High School Diploma or equivalent

Experience:

  • Required: 3 years of clinical or administrative experience with proven ability to organize and lead the daily work across multiple SBTH school clinical sites.

  • Preferred: Experience managing or leading a team

License/Certification:

  • Required: Maintaining certification as either a Licensed Practical Nurse, a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)/Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) or Emergency Medical Technician from one of the following: NC Board or Nursing, American Associate of Medical Assistants (AAMA), American Allied Health - RMA(AAH), American Medical Technologists (AMT), National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT), National Health career Association (NHA), American Registry of Medical Assistants (RMA), National Healthcare Worker's Association (NHCWA), National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP), National Registry of Medical Assistants (NRMA), American Medical Certification Association (AMCA) or Maintenance of NC State EMT Certification.
