Mountain West Bank is in search of an enthusiastic and talented Trainer for our Coeur'd'Alene Corporate location housed in our Ironwood Branch.

As a Trainer, you will support Mountain West Bank's mission to deliver exceptional customer/employee experiences. The Trainer is responsible for delivering, facilitating, evaluating, and continuously improving training programs for Mountain West Bank employees. Ensures employees are knowledgeable about bank products, systems, policies, regulatory requirements, and customer service standards. Collaborates with branch and department leaders to identify training needs, support employee development, and enhance performance through engaging learning experiences.

This position reports to the HR Director. Career growth includes advancing to higher Trainer levels, Training Manager and many more!

This is a full-time,hourly position. Candidates must be available Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm for a total of 40 hours a week. Some branch travel required. Rate of pay depends on experience.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Uphold and actively promote the bank's core beliefs, core values, and customer service standards, collectively known as "Our Compass".

  • Responsible for the delivery, assessment, and continuous improvement of Teller Training during Mountain West Bank University. Cultivates trust, unity, and collaboration among team members. Guides employees through the training process to help them get comfortable performing customer service, referral, HPG and other required tasks.

  • Plans, organizes, and facilitates interesting and engaging training such as TechXpert, Soft Skills, Retail Fundamentals, Systems/Equipment, etc. Monitors and evaluates the training methods and procedures used in the classroom, online and on-the-job training sessions.

  • Delivers on-site and in-person training at branches in coordination with branch management and retail leadership.

  • Conducts assessments of our training program's success and organizational training needs and identifies knowledge gaps.

  • May produce and make available video, on-demand, and self-paced training modules.

  • Remains knowledgeable of best practices, trends, and industry literature to continuously improve and evolve the training program to enhance performance.

  • Trains on the procedures for effective and accurate processing of customer accounts, opening new accounts, processing transactions, etc. Continually works to enhance knowledge of bank products and services.

  • Works with Managers to provide on-going support to employees after the initial training period to assess their progress and performance to standards, including development of Progression plans and accountability.

  • Participates in the process of tracking the registration, attendance, and completion by employees of internal training programs within our Learning Management System (OnCourse).

  • Regularly visits branches and departments to assess training effectiveness, build relationships, and identify development opportunities.

  • Review and develop training materials, as needed, with the training staff, to determine appropriateness for use in the bank's training programs.

  • Ensure compliance of staff with all applicable federal regulations. Serves as a subject matter expert on complex transactions, procedures, and operational issues.

  • Identify appropriate training guidelines to improve the knowledge base bank wide on relevant issues.

  • Stays current on communications and updates on policy/procedure changes while also staying in communication with the team.

  • Regards as confidential any private information relating to customers and employees.

  • Assist in project work as needed.

  • Helps with achieving department goals regarding strategic plan.

    Must comply with applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.


About You

Position Requirements:

  • High school diplopma or equivalent.
  • 3 or more years of experience in a retail branch environment
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written to maintain a heavy volume of correspondence, personal contact, and telephone communication.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
  • Ability to multi-task and handle complex tasks efficiently. Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work independent of daily supervision for long periods of time
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to travel to MWB branches, departments and trainings as needed
  • Ability to apply policies and procedures and to maintain good relationships with employees.
  • Ability to maintain a positive attitude and exhibit patience while training

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Advanced knowledge of MWB products, services and software programs
  • Prior experience presenting to groups of individuals
  • Prior training experience
  • MWB CSR IV level
  • Previous experience opening new accounts
  • TechXpert certification

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work area with moderate noise level.

Must be able to work extended hours or travel off site whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance. Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in an emergency situation.

Specific lifting abilities required by this job include: Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include: The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation/inspection of machines and/or using measurement devices at distances close to the eyes.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS: Starting salary is dependent upon relevant experience and may vary based on the geographic location of the position. Most Full-Time employees are also offered 6 paid holidays and Part Time employees are offered pro-rated paid holidays.
