PURPOSE

Under general direction, responsible for the more complex accounting activities associated with maintaining ledger accounts and for developing financial statements and reports. Provides training and guidance to less experienced accounting staff.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITEIS

* Responsible for providing full scope accounting support to regional offices and/or corporate management.

* Participates and coordinates monthly/quarterly/annual closing cycles and financial statement preparation including preparing financial reports for lenders, investors and management.

* Prepares and performs analysis of advisory comments for discrepancies at various levels of consolidation on financial reports.

* Verifies proper general ledger accounting through account analysis and reconciliation.

* Presents analytical and trend analysis to management, identifying errors, balance sheet reconciliations and audit documentation, fixed asset management and oversight.

* Assists in annual audits through collection of information on general ledger accounts.

* Provides functional advice and training to less-experienced accounting staff.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.



  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance and four (4) years accounting experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. CPA preferred.


COMPETENCIES



  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Knowledge of cost accounting
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to plan, organize, and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships
  • Ability to compose effective and efficient accounting reports
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Proficiency in the use of accounting software package
