Job Description

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Working Lead position has been established to provide shift support in the areas of quality, productivity, and workforce development. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for maintaining high standards of workmanship and supporting daily manufacturing operations.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Provide training on manufacturing fundamentals to improve employee workmanship, productivity, and efficiency.
  • Direct, coordinate, and schedule the workforce on a daily basis.
  • Enforce all safety policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Cross-train manufacturing associates to support operational needs and maximize throughput.
  • Identify opportunities for process, method, and documentation improvements, and train associates on updated procedures.
  • Perform workmanship audits to verify training effectiveness and ensure compliance with procedures.
  • Assist with scrap and rework reduction initiatives by collaborating with Manufacturing, Quality, and Engineering teams to implement effective solutions.
  • Support administrative activities, including production schedule updates and training documentation.
  • Adjust production schedules as needed to accommodate changing priorities and maximize throughput.
  • Train new employees and provide coaching and feedback to improve the quality and performance of existing employees.
  • Oversee lot control activities and ensure accurate and timely data entry.
  • Develop employees to meet departmental efficiency and performance standards across all operations.
  • Manage cross-training efforts, productivity tracking, supply management, and inventory control.
  • Maintain, revise, and correct lot control data and related administrative records.
  • Conduct shift crossover meetings to communicate goals, quality concerns, safety topics, and other important information.
  • Complete routine SOP and PEI audits to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Accept responsibility for the overall quality performance of the team and ensure all operators adhere to established PEIs and SOPs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Fully certified in all department areas except Grain Laue and Heat Treat.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to foster a positive team environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven success working in a collaborative team environment.
  • Significant experience in rough clean manufacturing product processing.
  • Previous training and employee development experience.
  • Excellent attendance record.
  • No written attendance or quality-related disciplinary actions within the past year.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
  • Computer proficiency preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
