Summary

The Senior Director, Market Access & Government Affairs leads advocacy, market access, reimbursement, and external engagement strategies in the US and Canada. The role strengthens relationships with government agencies, commercial payers, industry associations, advocacy organizations, and other key stakeholders to advance business priorities, support patient access, and inform healthcare policy and reimbursement decisions.


Serving as a senior advisor and external representative, the role translates policy, payer, reimbursement, and market trends into actionable strategies for executive leaders and cross-functional teams. Success requires senior-level judgment, commercial and policy acumen, high personal credibility, and the ability to influence complex stakeholders in a regulated healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

  • Government Affairs and Policy Strategy: Develop and execute government affairs strategies aligned with business objectives, market access priorities, and long-term organizational goals.
  • Advocacy and External Engagement:Monitor and influence legislative, regulatory, reimbursement, and public policy developments; serve as a senior representative with policymakers, regulators, payers, associations, and advocacy organizations.
  • Strategic Partnerships:Build and sustain executive-level relationships with commercial payers, healthcare organizations, industry groups, and advocacy partners to advance access, reimbursement, and business priorities.
  • Market Access and Reimbursement:Assess pricing, reimbursement, payer policy, and healthcare market trends; recommend strategies that protect access, support sustainable outcomes, and create business value.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership:Partner with Legal, Compliance, Communications, Commercial, Market Access, and executive leadership to align advocacy, partnership, and strategic initiatives.
  • Executive Decision Support:Synthesize policy, market, stakeholder, and business insights into concise recommendations, briefings, and strategic plans.
  • Oversight and Execution:Oversee advocacy initiatives, external advisors, coalitions, strategic events, and selected cross-functional projects to ensure compliant, timely, and measurable execution.
  • Regional and Global Insight:Share market learnings and policy insights with regional and global teams to inform broader access, reimbursement, and partnership strategies.

Education & Work Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree with 8-12 years of related experience
Education & Work Preferences

  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, public policy, healthcare, science, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in government affairs, market access, strategic partnerships, payer relations, reimbursement strategy, healthcare policy, commercial leadership, or a related field.
  • Experience influencing senior executives, policymakers, payers, regulators, association leaders, or other complex external stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare policy, reimbursement, payer dynamics, market access, and regulated industry environments.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives, align diverse stakeholders, and translate external trends into actionable business strategies.
  • Strong executive communication skills, including concise briefings, recommendations, and presentations for senior leadership.
  • Business and financial acumen, including familiarity with market, product, reimbursement, and performance analysis.

Our Total Rewards package in aggregate is above market and includes competitive pay, paid time off programs, peer-to-peer recognition, health and life insurance, wellness programs and incentives, and generous retirement savings.



  • The anticipated base pay range for this position is $215,000 - $300,000 yearly. The actual salary varies based on applicant's location, education, experience, skills, abilities, and other legitimate business factors.
  • If applicable: This position is also eligible to participate in the Hollister Secure Start Bonus Plan.
