POSITION SUMMARY

The Senior Accountant is responsible for managing month-end close activities, maintaining accurate financial records, preparing internal and external reports, and performing detailed financial analyses. This role ensures the accuracy of financial data and provides critical insights and reporting to support business operations and decision-making.

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm. This role will be working out of Brooklyn Park, MN.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Maintain the Fixed Asset ledger, including tracking additions, disposals, and depreciation/amortization schedules.
  • Ensure asset records and registrations are accurate, complete, and up to date.
  • Oversee monthly lease accounting calculations and related journal entries.
  • Lead the preparation and filing of property tax, business license, and other compliance-related documentation.
  • Manage the month-end close process, including journal entries and invoice management.
  • Maintain accurate accounting records in the local ERP system and prepare reports for corporate uploads.
  • Process and review general ledger and journal entries.
  • Reconcile subledgers such as Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and Inventory.
  • Prepare and submit annual sustainability reports.
  • Maintain schedules for prepaid expenses and accruals.
  • Perform data analysis and prepare data-driven reports, graphs, and dashboards for business stakeholders.
  • Reconcile and review bank accounts and petty cash balances regularly.
  • Support the annual budgeting process and prepare periodic reports to monitor budget compliance.
  • Prepare and review internal monthly and annual financial statements.
  • Coordinate and respond to information requests from external auditors.
  • Assist in the sales tax compliance process.
  • Collaborate with other departments to address customer inquiries, supplier requirements, and special projects.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across accounting processes and operational efficiency.
  • Other duties as assigned.



EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & ABILITIES



  • Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, or related field required.
  • Minimum of 6 years of accounting/finance experience in a business environment.
  • Experience with audit processes preferred.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems (SAP or Oracle preferred).
  • Knowledge of international accounting standards and reporting practices is a plus.
  • High level of professionalism, integrity, and ethical standards.
  • Strong teamwork, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated business acumen and strategic thinking capabilities.
  • Ability to prepare, interpret, and analyze financial reports.
  • Fluency in German is a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong root cause analysis and problem-solving abilities.
  • Passion for developing and mentoring others.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to follow through on commitments.
  • Capable of managing multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with advanced skills in Excel.



Compensation: $83,000

Pay is based on several factors which vary based on position. These include labor markets and, in some instances, may include education, skills, work experience and certifications. You may also be eligible to participate in an annual incentive bonus. An incentive bonus, if any, depends on various factors such as organizational performance.
