Job Summary

The MIG/TIG Pipe Welder is responsible for performing precision welding and fabrication on carbon steel and stainless-steel pipe components. The role involves welding couplings and outlets onto pipes, assembling spool pieces and pipe sections, and completing pipe-to-pipe welds using MIG and TIG welding processes. The position requires strong attention to detail, the ability to read measurements accurately, and a commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork. Candidates must be prepared to complete a welding test during the interview.

Job Responsibilities



  • Perform MIG and TIG welding on carbon steel and stainless-steel pipes.
  • Weld couplings and outlets onto carbon steel pipe.
  • Assemble pipe sections and spool pieces through precision pipe-to-pipe welding.
  • Perform specialty welding tasks on pipes, spool pieces, and related components.
  • Inspect completed welds for defects, splits, seams, and other quality concerns.
  • Check proper alignment of fittings and pipe components before and after welding.
  • Maintain accurate measurements and use a tape measure to support fabrication and assembly.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe welding station.
  • Follow established safety, quality, and welding procedures.
  • Report equipment malfunctions, safety concerns, and repair needs to the appropriate personnel.
  • Complete required training and use applicable computer systems and online training platforms.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and collaborate to complete work accurately and efficiently.


Job Requirements



  • 3-5 years of welding and fabrication experience.
  • Hands-on experience with both MIG and TIG welding.
  • Experience welding carbon steel and stainless-steel pipe.
  • Ability to read and accurately use a tape measure.
  • Ability to inspect welds and identify defects, splits, seams, and alignment issues.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Basic reading and writing skills.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to complete online training.
  • Ability to follow safety procedures and maintain a clean and safe work area.
  • Ability to identify and report equipment and safety issues.
  • Ability to bring a welding hood and required PPE for the welding test.
