POSITION SUMMARY:
The Branch Accountant is responsible for providing project accounting support for KEMRON's ERRS regions, with primary responsibility for project reconciliation, client billing, and related financial administration. This position works closely with Project Managers and other operational and accounting personnel to ensure project financial information is accurate, complete, and processed in a timely manner.
The ideal candidate will be based in the Atlanta area and will have strong organizational, analytical, and accounting skills, along with proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting/project management systems.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/FUNCTIONS OF POSITION:
- Perform project reconciliations for ERRS regional projects.
- Prepare, review, and process client invoices in accordance with contract requirements and established billing schedules.
- Review project costs, labor, expenses, and other financial activity for accuracy prior to billing.
- Identify and research project accounting discrepancies and work with Project Managers and accounting personnel to resolve issues.
- Monitor project billing status and assist with accounts receivable follow-up as needed.
- Maintain accurate supporting documentation for project billings and reconciliations.
- Assist Project Managers with questions related to project financial activity, billing, costs, and account status.
- Review project information for completeness and accuracy and communicate needed corrections or adjustments.
- Maintain project accounting records within Dynamics SL and other applicable systems.
- Prepare and maintain spreadsheets, reports, and other financial documentation used for project and regional accounting activities.
- Assist with month-end project accounting activities and reconciliation as needed.
- Coordinate with corporate accounting and regional personnel to ensure timely and accurate financial processing.
- Perform other related accounting duties as assigned.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- Previous experience in accounting, project accounting, billing, accounts receivable, or a related financial function preferred.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience with Dynamics SL or similar accounting/project management software preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with Project Managers, accounting personnel, and regional staff.
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive financial information appropriately.
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Primarily works in a professional office environment, with some remote work possible on a pre-arranged basis.
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer, generally up to two hours at a time.
- Must have the ability to remain in a stationary position, standing or sitting, for extended periods as required to perform job duties.
- Must be able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously in an efficient manner.
- Must be able to assess the accuracy, completeness, and thoroughness of financial information and assigned work.
- Must have the ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with employees and management across multiple locations.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to occasionally work outside normal business hours or on weekends when necessary to meet billing, reconciliation, or month-end deadlines.
- Must understand and follow KEMRON policies, procedures, and applicable SOPs.
