Position Summary:

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for repairing and maintaining machinery and production equipment, as well as installing functional and structural parts within the facility. They perform installation, removal, and preventative maintenance on equipment and machinery. When necessary, they repair issues and communicate problems. The technician maintains and issues work orders and contacts outside suppliers for replacement parts and technical services.

Position Description:

  • PLC troubleshooting, backup, diagnostic and update: Allen Bradley, Fanuc 90-30 & 90-80, Micrologix 500 & 1000.
  • Industrial communication network (Information, control, and device level)
  • Diagnostic and repair of control circuits or D/C and A/C from 24 to 480 VAC
  • Troubleshooting in Amplifier servo; servo valves, sensors, temperature control, transducers, variator of frequency, circuit board, 3ph motors
  • Maintain and improve hydraulics, pneumatics and electrical systems from furnace, die casts and stamping presses
  • Install and maintain a variety of electrical equipment such as motors, power and light circuits, starters, and circuit breakers, diagnose electrical circuits, including solid state controls.
  • Must be able to use shop mathematics, charts, tables and handbook formulas.
  • Must be able to work from complex drawings, wiring diagrams and sketches.
  • Must be willing to advance through continued training and education
  • Promote team concept and train new employees.
  • Adhere to all safety procedures as LOTO, Confined space, Arc Flash & Electrical shock prevention.
  • Maintain required documentation and files for equipment. This should include all print and detailed information needed to document that equipment is properly maintained.
  • Proficiency in electrical installations with conduit and wiring practices.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate degree (AA) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school preferred.
  • Three-Five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must successfully complete a blueprint reading course.
  • Ability to write reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively to associates of the organization.
  • Experience in the use of care of a variety of tools, equipment, and machines is essential.
  • Working knowledge of all the construction trades is required, including electrical wiring, electronic controls, troubleshooting of PLC's, machining, plumbing, hydraulics, and pneumatic systems.

Language: English (Spanish/English) a plus

Work Environment/Physical Requirements:

This position is done in a Manufacturing environment typically indoors but may require access to outdoors for work at times. The position requires a person to be able to frequently walk, stand, bend and twist; see, hear and talk; use fingers and hands, handle or feel controls or product; use hands and arms to reach, hold and carry product. Frequently lifting/moving up to 35 lbs. and occasionally up to 50 lbs. is required. This position also requires a person to handle different temperatures as the Warehouse is hot in the summer and cooler in the winter. This position may also be a person to stand for long periods of time, up to 12 hours.
