Description The Hugo Lab is seeking a Staff Research Associate to support innovative cancer research through the analysis of large scale biological datasets, including RNA sequencing, spatial transcriptomics, multiplex IHC, and imaging data. Working closely with the Principal Investigator, the incumbent will use established R and Python pipelines to analyze data, perform statistical analyses, and contribute to publications and grant proposals.
The role also supports laboratory operations, including inventory management, regulatory compliance, and maintenance of research records for patient samples and biological specimens. This position offers the opportunity to collaborate on high impact research projects in a dynamic, multidisciplinary environment.
Salary:$30.12 - $35.92 hourly
Qualifications Required:
  • Skill in performing work in an accurate and thorough manner with close attention to details in all areas. Ability to follow through on work assignments.
  • Ability to write legibly using correct spelling to record technical lab results and keep accurate and organized records.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and with mutual respect with co-workers, and other staff.
  • Working knowledge of basic high throughput sequencing-based bulk and single cell RNAseq and spatial transcriptomics using Python or R. Working knowledge of data analysis and interpretation of multiplex immunofluorescence.
  • Willingness and ability to work changing hours if necessary.
  • Ability to take direction with regard to problems or troubleshooting in the lab
  • General laboratory support including procurements, ensuring lab safety compliance, BUA application, IRB application.
  • Working knowledge of assisting and training junior undergraduate lab assistants in basic omics and image data analysis to support the lab's overall data analysis projects.
  • Working knowledge of recognize out of control situations, and notify proper personnel to remedy situation.
