Duties & Responsibilities:



  • The Basic Security Fundamental Support Instructor I (EVOC) provides instruction for the Emergency Vehicle Operators Course (EVOC) in accordance with CENSECFOR curriculum requirements.
  • The Basic Security Fundamental Support Instructor I (EVOC) delivers highrisk driver training, qualification events, inspections, vehicle control instruction, and emergency driving techniques on the EVOC range.
  • Maintain student safety throughout all driving evolutions and enforce applicable Navy, DoD, and installation regulations.
  • Conduct student pretraining preparation, observe performance, complete required evaluations, and provide remediation when necessary.
  • Support BSF training modules and assist with nonweapons curriculum after obtaining CUIT qualifications.
  • Maintain EVOC Instructor certification, including instructing four basic courses per year and completing periodic recertification requirements.
  • Coordinate with government personnel for access to training facilities, vehicles, and scheduled driving events.
  • The Basic Security Fundamental Support Instructor I (EVOC) ensures proper documentation of qualifications and certifications in the Instructor Training Jacket (ITJ).
  • Other duties as assigned



Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):



  • Knowledge of emergency vehicle operations, inspection procedures, and safe driving practices in highrisk training environments.
  • Ability to evaluate student driving performance accurately and deliver corrective guidance.
  • Familiarity with Navy policies, installation driving regulations, and instructorled training methods.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to teach both classroom and practical driving instruction.
  • Ability to perform driving duties in varied weather, environmental, and operational conditions.
  • Understanding of curriculum requirements, testing standards, and highrisk safety protocols.


Minimum/General Experience:



  • Possess a valid state driver's license.
  • Have at least two (2) years emergency vehicle (EV) driving experience
  • Have a clean driving record:
  • No DWI/DUI convictions
  • No major moving violations (e.g. reckless driving, suspended license) within the previous 3 years.
  • A completed Physical Fitness Screening / Medical Evaluation for Motor Vehicle Operators (equivalent to previous OF-345 standards or in accordance with local installation safety office licensing requirements).



Minimum Education:



  • High school diploma or GED required.
