The Market Coffee Trainer is responsible for educating and instilling the values of deliciousness and beverage integrity in our baristas and top-tier wholesale accounts. They serve as a communal ambassador for La Colombe coffee products and are actively involved in the La Colombe culture and community. The Market Coffee Trainer works collaboratively with La Colombe CafeTeamsto ensureconsistent beverage quality, exceptional customer experience, and operational excellence across all markets. This role is also responsible for providinggreat customer service to both internal and external customers, acting as a trusted partner and resource across teams and accounts. In addition to technical coffee education, the Market Coffee Trainer supports and reinforces the cafe's mission and values, using education as a tool to drive memorable guest experiences and positive business results. Through hands-on training, coaching, and engagement, the trainer helps strengthen brand standards, elevate performance, and foster a culture of hospitality, collaboration, and continuous improvement.Market Coffee Trainers work as a function of the Operational Excellence team,owning andassistingin the creation of resources, policies, and procedures within all aspects of the cafeoperations. Responsibilities
PEOPLE & CULTURE Communicate proactively, professionally, and positively with the teamand guests. Train baristas to lead the industry in standards of drink preparation, customerservice, consistency, cleanliness, and efficiency. Collaborate and coordinate with cafeleadership, other training team members as well as the wholesale team to assure efficient use of the designated training lab or training areas.Identifyand escalate any potentialissues relating to our baristas either to Cafe Management or Human Resources. Serve asan inspirational leader figuretoour cafe teams. RETAIL OPERATIONS Assist in menu item launches as well as the opening of new cafes inthe market. Spend time onbarwith team members as needed/instructed. Utilize LaColombe protocolsintraining, follow-ups, and cafe visits. Work closely with theDistrictManager, Cafe Managers, and the National Manager of Training to promote La Colombecoffees within our retail locations. Carry out audits on all aspects of drink preparation andcustomer service at La Colombe Cafes. Collaborate with the technical department toachieve quality control from a technical perspective (calibration, water quality, TDSmeasurements, etc.) Collect and catalog data, reviewtrendsand report to ensureproper/consistent brewing across the market. EDUCATION Inspires and educates our barista population through our core coffeecurriculum which guides baristas through the history of coffee and La Colombe's roletherein. Proficient in coffee knowledge, brewing, and machine maintenance. Consistentlyseekingto develop those skills and share new and efficient practices. Sharing knowledgeand feedback with baristas and managers while on bar during quality control checks.Ensure all baristas have completed trainingin accordance withour Training Program andthatfeedback is captured ina timelyfashion. Scheduling cuppings, training, and otherevents open to the public. Encourage and promote electiveeducation. PROGRAMDEVELOPMENT Attend weekly, monthly, and quarterly meetings. Maintainregular and open dialogue regarding the program with the National Manager of Training.Provide regular feedback on how to enhance and improve the program. Participate in yearlyrevisionsto the training guides. Regularlyassistin the identification and personaldevelopment of Baristas, Supervisors, and Cafe Managers. Represent La Colombe in aprofessional way at industry events and conferences. Requirements: *Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. *Proven experience in management or leadership roles is highly desirable. *A genuine passion for coffee and delivering exceptional hospitality. *Some travelrequired. *Minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience in the coffee industry. The salary range for this full-time position is $75,000.00-$75,000.00, + bonus + equity + benefits. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
