Take a look at this opportunity with our IT team, which is seeking a passionate individual, to fill the role of our MES Application Developer II. This role plays a key role in Prolacta's application development team, with primary responsibility for designing, building, testing, deploying, and supporting Tulip applications for manufacturing, quality, laboratory, logistics, and other operational workflows. This role partners closely with business users, process owners, IT, validation, and external partners to translate operational requirements into effective Tulip apps, tables, automations, connectors, and integrations. The Developer will also support related application development and integration needs, including .NET and SQL-based systems where applicable.

  • Works with the lead developer, process owners, and end users to design, prototype, configure, test, and deploy Tulip applications that support manufacturing, quality, laboratory, logistics, and operational workflows.
  • Develops and maintains Tulip apps, steps, triggers, tables, automations, dashboards, and reusable components to improve operator guidance, data capture, traceability, and process efficiency.
  • Builds and supports Tulip integrations using connectors, APIs, SQL database connections, and related integration patterns to exchange data with internal and external systems.
  • Works with lead developer and end users to validate requirements; captures relevant workflow, data, reporting, security, and audit trail requirements.
  • Participates in and conducts team reviews throughout the life cycle of the project.


  • Strongly adheres to Prolacta's structured SDLC (software development life cycle) and validation processes
  • Prepares software development documentation including designs, technical requirements, test scripts, test results, data migration plans, implementation plans and procedures; supports report generation and troubleshooting where applicable, such as SQL-based reports or Crystal Reports.
  • Provides operational support for Tulip-enabled shop-floor workflows, including issue triage, user assistance, root cause analysis, and coordination of resolution activities across IT, business users, vendors, and validation stakeholders.
  • Supports shop-floor hardware and device integrations used with Tulip and related systems, including Zebra handheld scanners, Zebra label printers, ZPL label formats, scales, barcode scanning workflows, edge devices, serial/network printer configuration, device connectivity, label templates, testing, and basic hardware troubleshooting, and documentation.
  • Manages the application maintenance ticket queue; troubleshoots performance issues and designs effective solutions
  • Effectively works with a Scrum or Kanban team as designated.
  • Improves processes, develops standards, and improves project documentation and procedures
  • Demonstrates teamwork by updating project plans, Gantt charts, and deliverables.
  • Informs Project Coordinator of issues impacting timelines and suggest effective solutions.



What you bring to the role



  • Bachelor's Degree required in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Systems, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline.
  • 3 or more years of experience developing, configuring, or supporting business applications, manufacturing systems, MES, quality systems, laboratory systems, or related operational technology platforms.
  • Hands-on experience or strong working knowledge of Tulip app development, including app design, steps, triggers, variables, tables, interfaces, automations, dashboards, and user-centered workflow design.
  • Experience gathering requirements from business users and translating process workflows into scalable, maintainable, and validated application solutions.
  • Experience with application lifecycle management, change control, documentation, testing, release management, and validation in a regulated or structured SDLC environment.
  • Working knowledge of integrations using APIs, connectors, SQL databases, external systems, and barcode scanners, label printers, or shop-floor or operational technology devices.
  • Understanding of Waterfall and Agile SDLC methodologies.
  • Experience with C#, .NET, ASP.NET, MVC, or related Microsoft development technologies preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server, stored procedures, triggers, scripts, reporting queries, and data troubleshooting, and report generation tools such as Crystal Reports preferred.
  • Experience with PowerShell or similar scripting tools for automation, troubleshooting, or system support preferred.
  • Experience supporting MES, ERP, LIMS, QMS, WMS, label printing, barcode scanning, Zebra handheld devices, Zebra printers, ZPL label formats, scales, and/or other shop-floor peripheral hardware systems preferred.
  • Experience with Tulip connectors, APIs, external SQL data sources, MQTT, OPC UA, edge devices, or custom widgets preferred.
