CT Technologist
Location: Rochester, NY
Schedule/Shift: Monday-Friday, 3:00 PM-11:30 PM; on-call/callback, holidays, and occasional weekends
Pay: $3,004 to $3,204weekly

Position Overview

The CT Technologist performs high-quality diagnostic CT imaging while maintaining patient safety, comfort, and accurate clinical documentation. This role prepares and positions patients, administers IV access as needed, and collaborates with physicians and clinical staff to support diagnostic imaging services. The position requires experience in a Level I Trauma Center environment, proficiency with imaging workflows, and adherence to established safety and quality standards. The CT Technologist must demonstrate effective communication, compassion, teamwork, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical setting.

Job Responsibilities




  • Confirm patient identity and verify examination details before initiating scans in accordance with established patient safety policies and procedures.



  • Coordinate with physicians and clinical staff to provide high-quality diagnostic imaging.



  • Prepare patients for CT scans and clearly explain procedures to promote comfort and understanding.



  • Insert IVs as necessary for imaging procedures.



  • Position, lift, and move patients as needed while following safe patient-handling practices.



  • Maintain accurate patient records and document all required examination information in EPIC.



  • Properly identify images and ensure completed examinations are accurately transmitted to the PACS system.



  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe scanning environment.



  • Follow established imaging, infection control, and patient safety protocols.




Job Requirements




  • Minimum of 2 years of CT Technologist experience required.



  • Level I Trauma Center experience required.



  • Completion of formal training through an approved School of Radiologic Technology required.



  • Current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification required.



  • Current New York State Radiologic Technologist license required prior to starting the position.



  • Current American Heart Association BLS certification required.



  • Injection therapy certification must be stated on the license at the time of submission for healthcare professionals currently registered in New York State.



  • Telemetry knowledge or experience required.



  • Knowledge of Philips and Siemens imaging equipment preferred.



  • Injection certification preferred; candidates must be willing to complete certification during orientation if applicable.



  • Effective written and verbal communication skills required.



  • Demonstrated patient-focused and compassionate approach to care.



  • Ability to work collaboratively and maintain a cohesive team environment.



  • Ability to safely position, lift, and move patients with limited mobility as required.
