What to Expect
Tesla's Quality Vision Automation team seeks a technician to support computer vision and inspection deployments. The devices (RTSP or GigE cameras) are deployed along Tesla's productionlinesinmanufacturing environments for a variety of tasks, but this role focuses on vehicle quality inspections. The ideal candidate hasdemonstratedan interest in computer vision systems and has proven their ability to solve difficult problems. They should also want to beonthe front line of the most advanced manufacturing facilities in the world.

What You'll Do
  • Understand basic car quality issues and help determine if inspecting them automatically with computer vision is possible
  • Install, configure, and maintain quality vision systems including cameras, lighting, and mounting hardware on the production floor
  • Install line-side equipment, bolting brackets, and basic hand tool usage including cameras and computer hardware
  • Perform on-site data collection, ensuring proper image capture, labeling, and dataset curation for model training and validation
  • Build, train, and iterate on computer vision models using the factory vision platform to create quality vision inspections
  • Support engineers as they iterate on these systems by providing direct feedback on how the systems are functioning on the line, including communicating time periods of failure of the system
  • Wiring, networking and operating computer programs within an industrial/manufacturing environment

What You'll Bring
  • 1 year of experience working in an industrial or technical organization preferred
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and work in an extremely fast-paced environment
  • Effective communication skills to coordinate across engineering, production, and quality teams, and willingness to document
  • Solid computer skills including specific experience with file systems and basic understanding of computer networks
  • Basic understanding of electrical safety
  • Must have command of English language, both written and verbal

Essential Physical Demands

  • Ability to perform physically demanding work for extended periods of time, up to 12 hours a day
  • Ability to stand and walk for up to 12 hours a day, including over varied and uneven terrain
  • Frequently and repetitively, lift, push and carry up to 35 lbs., including the ability to carry 20 lbs. up and down stairs
  • Frequently and repetitively, bend, lift and reach to install parts
  • Stoop, lay, bend, reach, squat, kneel, crouch, twist and crawl for extended periods of time, including up to 12 hours a day
  • Climb and maintain balance on ladders, scaffolding or other high structures
  • Ability to find issues in a work process and receive safety signals using sight, touch, and hearing
  • Wearing Personal Protective Equipment, including but not limited to: hard hat, safety glasses, safety shoes, reflective vest, and adhering to prescribed safety rules and guidelines
