*Physician Coding Auditor & Educator* *Schedule:* Full-Time
*Work Model:* Hybrid (Minimum 1 Day Onsite Weekly) We are seeking an experienced *Physician Coding Auditor & Educator* to support physician coding compliance, documentation improvement, auditing, and provider education initiatives. This role is responsible for conducting independent coding audits, identifying compliance risks, educating providers, and helping ensure accurate and compliant medical record documentation in accordance with CMS, CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10 guidelines. The ideal candidate combines strong auditing expertise with the ability to effectively educate and communicate with physicians, practice leaders, and administrative stakeholders. Key Responsibilities * Conduct independent physician coding and documentation audits. * Evaluate medical record documentation to ensure accurate code assignment and billing compliance. * Perform compliance reviews utilizing CMS, CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10, and payer-specific guidelines. * Analyze coding and documentation trends to identify areas of risk and improvement. * Utilize auditing software and reporting tools to document audit findings and track compliance activities. * Provide detailed audit feedback and recommendations to providers and leadership. * Develop and deliver physician coding education programs. * Create training materials focused on documentation accuracy, coding compliance, and regulatory requirements. * Present audit findings and educational recommendations to providers, department leaders, and practice administrators. * Support onboarding education for new providers and ongoing compliance training initiatives. * Deliver targeted education based on audit trends and identified documentation gaps. * Research coding, billing, and documentation regulations. * Monitor regulatory changes impacting provider coding and reimbursement. * Assist with compliance investigations related to billing and documentation concerns. * Support audit readiness initiatives and risk mitigation efforts. * Develop policies, audit tools, reference guides, and standard operating procedures. * Prepare audit reports and compliance summaries for leadership. * Track provider performance trends and compliance metrics. * Identify opportunities to improve coding accuracy and reduce compliance risk. * Maintain documentation of audits, education activities, investigations, and corrective actions. Required Qualifications * Certified Professional Coder (CPC), CCS-P, RHIT, RHIA, or comparable certification. * 3+ years of physician coding, auditing, compliance, or provider education experience. * Experience conducting physician coding audits and compliance reviews. * Understanding of evaluation and management (E/M) coding principles. * Strong analytical, communication, and presentation skills. * Ability to educate providers and communicate complex coding concepts clearly. * Experience working independently and managing multiple priorities. *Job Type & Location*This is a Permanent position based out of Baltimore, MD. *Pay and Benefits*The pay range for this position is $66102.00 - $92560.00/yr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
