The University of Washington Department of Anesthesiology & Pain Medicine invites applications for a faculty position at the rank of Professor with tenure with an anticipated start date of January 2027 or thereafter. The successful candidate will be expected to perform community-engaged research at the intersection of aging, chronic pain, and population health and demonstrate commitment to excellence in research, teaching, and service in a diverse and inclusive academic community. We seek an investigator to build an extramurally funded research program focused on non-pharmacologic and exercise-based interventions that improve mobility, physical function, and pain management while reducing fall risk in older adults. Scholarly priorities also include advancing the epidemiology of multimorbidity and functional decline, as well as providing methodological leadership in pain-related clinical trial design. In addition to advancing non-opioid pain strategies, the successful candidate will support institutional priorities in healthy aging and community partnership while contributing actively to our educational mission. This position plays a critical role in strengthening scientific workforce capacity through dedicated mentorship of a diverse cohort of learners, from undergraduate students to junior faculty. University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research and service. The successful candidate will join our faculty on a full-time basis for a twelve-month appointment. Professors hold indefinite appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off. Salary and academic appointment at University of Washington will be commensurate with experience, qualifications, and academic rank. The base salary range for this position will be $15,417 - $19,167 ($185,004 - $230,004 annually), commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a US Department of Labor prevailing wage determination.
