Position Summary

The VP, Global Sales, Solutions & Clinical will be a key member of the leadership team and will be responsible for driving the global commercial strategy and execution for Cytek's Solutions & Clinical business. This executive will lead the planning, development, recruitment, organization, and management of global sales and applications teams in support of company and business-unit revenue objectives.

The successful candidate will be a strategic, highly accomplished sales leader with deep expertise in life science tools, flow cytometry, clinical diagnostics, or related capital equipment markets. This individual will combine a strong understanding of complex, consultative sales with the ability to lead geographically dispersed teams, develop high-performing sales leaders, optimize direct and indirect channels, and consistently translate market opportunities into profitable revenue growth.

The VP will partner closely with regional sales leadership, Marketing, Finance, Applications, and other functional leaders to establish and execute a cohesive global commercial strategy. The role requires a leader who can operate strategically at the executive level while maintaining a strong focus on sales execution, forecasting discipline, customer engagement, talent development, and measurable business outcomes.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborate with regional sales leadership to ensure quarterly global sales targets and goals are achieved based upon company and business-unit revenue objectives; oversee direct and indirect sales channels to achieve these targets.
  • Partner with Finance and business-unit leadership to develop annual budgets, report monthly sales performance, and participate in leadership meetings as requested.
  • Work with Regional Sales leaders and Marketing to ensure new-product and new-market strategies, sales enablement, and training programs are effectively deployed globally.
  • Assist in the development of the annual marketing plan, specifically advising on realistic forecasts for each product and territory based on historical performance, market trends, competitive activity, promotional strategy, and sales effort; realistic costs of operating the sales organization; and sales promotion program plans.
  • Manage administrative responsibilities of the Sales organization as assigned, including monitoring expenses against budget, appropriate use and maintenance of company assets, and adherence to OSHA and Universal Lab precautions.
  • Generate opportunities and sales by actively participating in regional, national, and global meetings, congresses, industry events, and customer engagements.
  • Ensure the company's CRM systems are effectively configured and utilized to track progress toward sales targets, measure funnel health, improve forecasting accuracy, and maintain progress toward business-unit financial objectives.
  • Develop and deliver global and regional incentive compensation plans designed to drive the desired behaviors and performance required to achieve business-unit sales targets.
  • Lead global and regional sales meetings, quarterly business reviews, forecast reviews, and other strategic meetings with sales staff and leadership.
  • Continuously optimize the global Sales and Applications organization to align talent, structure, coverage, and resources with evolving business-unit objectives and market opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key customers, strategic partners, distributors, and industry stakeholders.
  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • BA/BS in Engineering, Life Sciences, Biological Sciences, Business, or another closely related discipline. Considerable relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree.
  • Strong track record of sales and sales-management leadership within the life science tools industry required.
  • 12+ years of progressive sales and sales leadership experience within life science tools, clinical diagnostics, medical devices, capital equipment, or a related industry.
  • 8+ years of people-management experience, including at least 3+ years managing Sales Managers, Regional Sales Directors, or other second-line leaders.
  • Prior experience at the Director, Senior Director, or VP level leading a multi-region or global sales organization strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated success managing global or multi-region teams, including experience with both direct and indirect/distributor channel models.
  • Previous flow cytometry or life science capital-equipment experience required.
  • Proven track record of developing and growing new capital-equipment business on an annual basis.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and execute sophisticated, consultative sales strategies within the Life Science Tools and Clinical Diagnostics markets.
  • Strong business acumen, financial orientation, forecasting discipline, and understanding of complex capital-equipment sales cycles.
  • Highly self-motivated, results-oriented leader with the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, innovative, and evolving organization.
  • Computer proficiency required, including Microsoft Office 365 and Salesforce.

  • Proven ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents such as purchase agreements, financial reports, professional journals, package inserts, technical procedures, and government regulations.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of current worldwide research trends and the ability to translate emerging scientific and market trends into actionable commercial strategies.
  • Demonstrated strength in organizational design, territory management, account assessment, strategic selling, and relationship development.
  • Strong analytical and financial-management capabilities, including contract proposals, profitability analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and expense management.
  • Ability to anticipate and adapt to changing markets, competitive dynamics, customer needs, and territory conditions while maintaining business objectives.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate independently, strategically, and collaboratively to achieve individual, business-unit, and corporate goals.
  • Exceptional executive presence, communication, influencing, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Proven ability to attract, develop, coach, and retain high-performing commercial talent.
  • Demonstrated ability to align Sales, Applications, Marketing, Finance, and other cross-functional teams around common commercial objectives.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time on commercial airlines, trains, and rental cars to call upon potential and existing customers.
  • Will be required to lift up to 25 lbs.
