Job Summary:
Lafayette Group, Inc. (LGI) is seeking an experienced Program Manager/Engagement Lead to lead strategic consulting support to the Transportation Security Administration (TSA). This individual will serve as the day-to-day client lead and trusted advisor for a multidisciplinary team supporting TSA's Strategy, Policy & Engagement (SP&E) mission and other high-priority initiatives. The successful candidate will combine deep TSA experience, executive-level client advisory skills, strategic consulting expertise, and strong engagement leadership. The Program Manager/Engagement Lead will work closely with senior TSA leaders to understand evolving priorities, translate complex challenges into actionable strategies and initiatives, and coordinate integrated support across strategy, policy, stakeholder engagement, communications, organizational improvement, and program execution. As a senior member of LGI's TSA account, this individual will also help strengthen relationships across TSA, identify emerging client needs, and contribute to the continued growth of LGI's TSA portfolio.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the day-to-day engagement lead and trusted advisor to senior TSA clients, developing a strong understanding of leadership priorities, organizational challenges, and emerging requirements.
  • Lead and integrate a multidisciplinary consulting team supporting strategic planning, policy, stakeholder engagement, communications, organizational improvement, and other executive priorities.
  • Translate broad or evolving leadership priorities into actionable strategies, initiatives, roadmaps, implementation plans, governance approaches, and measurable outcomes.
  • Provide strategic analysis and recommendations to help TSA leadership address complex organizational, policy, operational, and stakeholder challenges.
  • Plan and facilitate executive strategy sessions, workshops, working groups, and decision-making forums that build alignment and drive action.
  • Build and maintain trusted relationships across TSA headquarters, operational organizations, DHS, industry, airports, and other internal and external stakeholder communities, as appropriate.
  • Anticipate client needs and proactively identify emerging issues, decisions, dependencies, risks, and opportunities requiring leadership attention.
  • Coordinate closely with LGI leadership and teaming partners to provide an integrated and seamless client experience.
  • Mentor and develop consulting staff and foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, initiative, and exceptional client service.
  • Identify emerging TSA requirements and adjacent mission needs and help develop solutions that provide additional value to the client.
  • Support TSA account planning, relationship development, capture, solution development, and proposals that contribute to the continued growth of LGI's TSA portfolio.
Required Qualifications
  • 10+ years of relevant professional experience, including significant experience supporting federal government clients in a consulting, advisory, program leadership, or government capacity.
  • Substantial experience supporting or working within TSA, with demonstrated knowledge of TSA's mission, organization, operating environment, culture, and stakeholder landscape.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish credibility and trusted relationships with senior federal executives and program leaders.
  • Experience leading complex strategy, policy, organizational transformation, stakeholder engagement, management consulting, or mission-support engagements.
  • Demonstrated success managing multidisciplinary consulting teams and integrating multiple concurrent workstreams.
  • Experience translating ambiguous or evolving executive priorities into structured approaches and actionable solutions.
  • Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, and analytical capabilities, with the ability to quickly understand complex organizational and mission challenges.
  • Exceptional executive communication skills, including experience facilitating senior-level discussions and developing clear, concise, decision-oriented written and presentation materials.
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain required federal suitability or security requirements.
  • Ability to work regularly onsite with TSA clients in Springfield, Virginia and/or other National Capital Region TSA facilities, as required.

Desired Qualifications
  • Master's degree in business, public policy, public administration, organizational development, homeland security, or a related discipline.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or other relevant professional certification.
  • Possess a TS security clearance and be Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) eligible.
  • Established professional relationships and demonstrated credibility within the TSA community.
  • Business development experience, including client relationship development, capture strategy, solution development, and proposal development.

Location: Springfield, VA / National Capital Region (Hybrid)

Federal Contracts: This position involves working on federal contracts that require all workers on the contract to be U.S. Citizens. Additionally, some contracts may require the ability to obtain a security clearance.

Salary Range: $140K - $190K, commensurate with experience and qualifications
