Position Summary

Company / Site Overview
Parker Hannifin Corporation, through its Parker Aerospace / Parker Meggitt, Fire Safety & Power Systems Division, supports critical aerospace applications including fire detection and suppression technologies, power systems, and related safety-focused solutions.
This position is based at the Parker Aerospace / Parker Meggitt aerospace manufacturing site in Simi Valley, California. The site operates in a regulated environment where safety, quality, compliance, and integrity are essential to daily operations.

Position Summary
The Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Intern will support site EHS programs, regulatory compliance activities, workplace safety initiatives, hazardous materials awareness, training coordination, inspections, audits, and administrative reporting. This internship is intended for a college student currently enrolled in an Environmental, Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, or related academic program. The intern will work under the direction of EHS and site leadership while gaining practical experience in a regulated aerospace manufacturing environment.

Essential Functions
* Assist with EHS audits, safety inspections, workplace assessments, and follow-up tracking.
* Support compliance with applicable federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations.
* Help maintain EHS records, permits, logs, procedures, training documentation, and compliance files.
* Assist with hazardous materials and hazardous waste activities, including labeling, Safety Data Sheet review, storage checks, and disposal documentation.
* Support pollutant reduction, workplace hazard reduction, and continuous improvement initiatives.
* Assist with employee safety communication, training coordination, safety committee materials, and EHS awareness activities.
* Compile and maintain EHS data related to inspections, corrective actions, incidents, training, waste, and other site EHS metrics.
* Support documentation and follow-up for incidents, near misses, unsafe conditions, and corrective actions.
* Communicate professionally with employees, supervisors, and support functions.
* Maintain confidentiality of employee, compliance, audit, and business information.
* Perform other EHS and administrative support duties as assigned.

Qualifications
* Must be currently attending college or university.
* Must be currently enrolled in an Environmental, Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Engineering, Safety Engineering, Public Health with an EHS focus, or closely related program.
* Ability to work on-site in Simi Valley, CA.
* Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
* Effective written and verbal communication skills.
* Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
* Ability to follow instructions, ask questions, and work effectively in a team environment.
* Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
* Dependable attendance and punctuality.

Preferred Qualifications
* Coursework, project work, internship experience, or exposure related to EHS, manufacturing, aerospace, laboratory, or industrial operations.
* Familiarity with OSHA, Cal/OSHA, EPA, hazardous communication, Safety Data Sheets, hazardous waste, incident reporting, or corrective action tracking.
* Interest in aerospace manufacturing, fire safety systems, or regulated industrial environments.
* Ability to organize data and prepare clear, concise summaries.

Employment Conditions
* This is an internship / temporary position.
* Work schedule may be part-time or full-time based on business needs and the student's availability.
* Regular and reliable attendance is required.
* The position is on-site at the Simi Valley, California facility.
* The intern must follow all site safety rules, personal protective equipment requirements, access controls, confidentiality requirements, and company policies.
* Work may include time in office areas, production areas, chemical storage areas, waste accumulation areas, and other manufacturing support areas.
