Denny Sanford committed $100 million towards the creation of the T. Denny Sanford Institute for Empathy and Compassion at UC San Diego. This gift establishes a virtual institute to study the neurobiological basis of empathy and compassion and implement training models for physician education (medical students through practicing physicians) to effectively teach the practice of compassion for self and others. With the establishment of the Institute, investments will be made towards expanding subject matter expertise through key professorships, seed funding for research and collaborative projects, and appointment of research fellows and scholars. Additional activities include the establishment of an annual international conference, integration of new methods into the medical school curriculum, enhancing the Student-Run Free Clinic and establishment of various centers. The Administrative Assistant will provide administrative support in the Business Office of Sanford Institute for Empathy and Compassion and will independently manage all administrative support functions for the institute Director that are multidisciplinary in nature. Utilizes strong communication and organizational skills to manage and disperse departmental information through interpersonal, telephone, and computer communications. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: drafting responses to incoming communications, processing highly confidential documents, and maintaining files of a confidential nature. Coordinate and schedule meetings, reserve meeting rooms, order AV equipment, organize food service, draft agendas, attend meetings and transcribe minutes as needed. Process travel, entertainment, and other reimbursements. Order and maintain office supplies. Update and maintain the department calendar. Assist with preparing reports as needed. Gather data for special projects. Perform other tasks and projects as directed. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Pay Transparency Act Annual Full Pay Range: $64,498 - $92,436 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%) Hourly Equivalent: $30.89 - $44.27 Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable). | |
