Job Description

Business Development & Client Success Representative

Local Threads | Based out of Lexington, Massachusetts | Full-Time

$60,000-$65,000 Base Salary + Benefits + Uncapped Commission

About Local Threads

Local Threads is a growing startup building an online marketplace for the businesses, organizations, and places that make communities feel like home. We partner with local restaurants, bars, coffee shops, gyms, marinas, shops, teams, and other community favorites to help them sell their official apparel online without having to manage inventory, fulfillment, or an e-commerce operation themselves.

For customers, Local Threads is a place to shop and represent the community staples they know and love, discover exclusive merchandise from places they may not have heard of yet, and feel good knowing every purchase supports a local business.

Local Threads is a subsidiary of Quantech Services. Payroll and benefits are administered through our parent company, Quantech Services.

The Opportunity

We're looking for a motivated, creative, and outgoing Business Development & Client Success Representative to help expand Local Threads throughout Massachusetts and New England.

This is a unique opportunity to own the entire client lifecycle, from identifying and securing new business partnerships to developing products, building storefronts, and launching new clients on the Local Threads marketplace.

You'll spend time in local communities building relationships with business owners, introducing them to Local Threads, and bringing new partners on board. Once a partnership is established, you'll serve as the primary point of contact throughout onboarding, working directly with clients and our internal team to develop merchandise concepts, create product mockups, build their online storefronts, and prepare them for launch.

We're looking for someone who is equally excited about sales and the creative, operational work that goes into bringing a new business to life on our platform. You'll need to be comfortable managing multiple projects, taking initiative, and seeing opportunities through from start to finish.

As an early-stage company, Local Threads offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on how we grow. You'll have a voice in developing our sales strategies, improving our onboarding processes, identifying new markets, and helping shape the future of the business.

What You'll Do

Business Development & Sales

  • Identify and prospect local businesses and organizations throughout Massachusetts and New England that would be strong partners for Local Threads.
  • Conduct outreach through in-person visits, phone calls, email, social media, and community networking.
  • Build relationships with business owners and decision-makers, communicate the value of Local Threads, and secure new partnerships.
  • Manage an organized sales pipeline, documenting outreach activity, conversations, follow-ups, and partnership status.
  • Independently manage opportunities from initial prospecting through partnership agreement.
  • Identify creative ways to generate referrals, introductions, and new business opportunities.

Client Onboarding & Storefront Development

  • Own the onboarding process for newly signed clients, serving as their primary point of contact from partnership agreement through storefront launch.
  • Collect and organize client logos, branding assets, product preferences, and other materials needed for onboarding.
  • Collaborate with clients to develop merchandise concepts that reflect their business, brand, and audience.
  • Create initial product mockups and work with the internal team to refine designs and develop merchandise offerings.
  • Build and configure client storefronts on the Local Threads platform, including uploading products, images, descriptions, and relevant business information.
  • Review storefronts and product listings for accuracy, quality, and brand consistency before launch.
  • Coordinate client approvals, product selections, and final launch details.
  • Set up client commission arrangements and ensure the necessary information is accurately documented and configured.
  • Manage multiple client onboarding projects simultaneously, maintaining clear communication and meeting launch timelines.

Client Relationships & Operational Support

  • Develop positive, lasting relationships with clients throughout the sales and onboarding process.
  • Provide clients with guidance on their storefronts, merchandise offerings, and the Local Threads partnership model.
  • Coordinate with internal team members to resolve onboarding challenges and keep projects moving forward.
  • Maintain accurate client records, onboarding documentation, and storefront information.
  • Identify opportunities to improve the client experience, streamline onboarding, and strengthen internal processes.
  • Share feedback and insights from prospective and existing clients to support continued business growth.

Job Requirements

Who We're Looking For

  • Ideally 2+ years of experience in sales, business development, account management, client onboarding, e-commerce, or a related customer-facing role. Exceptional recent graduates will also be considered.
  • Confident and comfortable approaching local businesses, introducing yourself, and developing relationships with owners and decision-makers.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple clients and competing priorities independently.
  • Creative mindset with an interest in merchandise, branding, product development, and e-commerce.
  • Comfortable learning and using digital platforms to create product mockups, manage online storefronts, and maintain client information.
  • Strong attention to detail, particularly when managing product listings, client branding, and storefront setup.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to guide clients through a multi-step process.
  • Self-motivated, resourceful, and comfortable taking ownership of projects from beginning to end.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word, with the ability to learn additional CRM, design, and e-commerce tools.
  • Motivated by measurable results and a performance-based commission structure.
  • Willing and able to travel locally throughout New England for in-person business development.
  • Entrepreneurial and adaptable, with a genuine interest in helping grow an early-stage company.
