Position Title: Clinic Director Job Category: Academic Staff Employment Type: Terminal (Fixed Term) Job Profile: Clinical Professor Job Duties: The Clinic Director oversees all aspects of the functioning of the UWM Psychology Clinic, which is a research and training clinic serving UWM students and the Milwaukee community. This position will work with faculty supervisors and students to develop, implement, and monitor compliance with clinic policies, manage the clinic budget in consultation with the Clinical Training Committee, provide clinical supervision for graduate students in the Clinical Psychology PhD program and supervise Psychotherapy teams each year. The Clinic Director will serve as a voting member on the Clinical Training Committee, which oversees the clinical training of graduate students in the Clinical Psychology PhD program, and any other responsibilities which are more fully described in the position description. Key Job Responsibilities: Assist in hiring clinic staff Develop and oversee clinic budget allocations and expenditures Oversee compliance with Clinic and University Policy and Legal/Ethical standards for Psychologists Train & supervise clinic staff (e.g., Clinic Manager, Graduate Student Clinic TA) Supervise front desk staff Clinical student orientation to Clinic policies Oversee electronic health records. Identify and manage appropriate software, train clinic personnel in use of software, ensure timely completion of records, safe storage of records, and ethical release of records when needed Maintain manuals for clinical policies and procedures for students, staff, and supervisors Supervise client intake assessments conducted by Graduate Student Clinic TA Assign clients to therapist Assist the DCT/Area Head in assigning students to supervisors Engage in direct supervision of graduate students learning to conduct psychotherapy (supervise up to 6-8 student therapists in first year of therapy practicum, including holding regular group and individual supervision meetings and completing student evaluations), including continued supervision beyond the therapy year Survey graduate students for feedback about clinic operations and hold periodic clinic operations meetings to review feedback to develop and/or discuss improvements in processes Liaison to campus resources, Student Health and Wellness Center, Accessibility Resource Center, Women's Center, LGBTQ+ Resource Center Serve as liaison between Clinical Psychology Program and Community Placement Centers Oversee collection of practicum evaluations of Clinical Psychology students from both internal and external clinical supervisors Liaise with clinic supervisors (both therapy and assessment) regarding clinic operations, infrastructure, and supervisory considerations Oversee collection of Faculty supervisor evaluations by clinical psychology students Coordinate clinical research - e.g., liaison with PIs for studies done through the clinic Oversee implementation of measurement-based care Meet with student therapists to discuss models of supervision and consultation {Psychology 842 syllabus) Coordinate the Professional Developing and Issues in Clinical Psychology program meeting (approximately 3x/month) Assist the DCT/Area Head in maintaining the records necessary for maintenance and renewal of APA accreditation Keep abreast of the field in terms of Psychology Department Psychology Clinics Teach 1 graduate course per year (e.g., Professional Issues and Ethics in Clinical Psychology) Serve as a voting member of Clinical Training Committee Department: The department of Psychological & Brain Sciences is among the largest departments on campus, and psychology is the largest undergraduate major program at UWM. The neuroscience major was added in recent years to provide a streamlined curriculum for undergraduates that combines biology, biochemistry and psychology coursework. We are home to highly productive researchers who garner larger public and private grant funding. Our research specialties are renown and center around three areas: clinical psychology, health psychology and neuroscience. Our excellent reputation for research, education, and training in psychology make our graduate program competitive nationally and internationally with many more applicants than seats available. Compensation: $100,000 - $150,000 (Final salary offer will be determined based on qualifications and experience) Required Qualifications: Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology, Counseling Psychology, or related field Licensed or Licensed-eligible in WI Demonstrated publication record Demonstrated record of supervision of clinical psychology graduate students in empirically supported interventions and/or assessment practice Demonstrated ability to work with clinical researchers Demonstrated record of didactic teaching of graduate students in clinical psychology program or similar Preferred Qualifications: ABPP in clinical, counseling, CBT, Health, or Neuropsychology Familiarity with Clinic Note or similar electronic health record system Record of budget management and other skills needed to oversee business operations of the clinic How to Apply: Interested applicants are required to apply online and provide a cover letter, detailed resume/CV that addresses your professional level work experience as it relates to all required and preferred qualifications.
