Part-Time Maintenance Technician

The Millis Housing Authority is seeking a dependable, skilled, and self-motivated Part-Time Maintenance Technician to help maintain safe, clean, and attractive housing communities. This position offers 18 hours per week at $36.62 per hour and is ideal for someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys variety in their day, and is committed to providing quality service to residents.

The successful candidate will perform a wide range of maintenance and groundskeeping duties to ensure our properties are well maintained throughout the year. This hands-on role requires general repair skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform general landscaping and grounds maintenance
• Complete interior and exterior painting projects
• Conduct basic carpentry repairs and upkeep
• Perform light plumbing repairs and maintenance
• Assist with snow removal during winter weather events
• Inspect buildings, grounds, and equipment for maintenance needs
• Respond to routine maintenance requests in a timely manner
• Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a safe and organized manner
• Support property upkeep projects as assigned
• Participate in an on-call rotation approximately one week per month to address maintenance emergencies

Qualifications

• Experience in general property maintenance, facilities maintenance, construction, or a related field preferred
• Basic knowledge of landscaping, painting, carpentry, and plumbing
• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
• Reliable transportation and a strong work ethic
• Ability to perform physical work, including lifting, bending, and working outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
