About the Role

Step into a pivotal role where your design acumen will directly influence the aesthetic and functionality of retail environments for a leading global brand. You will be instrumental in translating global design standards and creative visions into compelling, store-specific layouts and solutions. This position offers the chance to lead projects from concept to completion, ensuring brand consistency, adherence to design guidelines, and compliance with local regulations. You'll join a collaborative team at the forefront of retail innovation, supporting an extensive portfolio of projects including the exciting rollout and testing of new store design concepts. Your hands-on expertise in retail store design and rollout will be critical as you independently drive projects forward, making a tangible impact on the brand's physical presence and customer engagement.

What You'll Do

• Shape the customer experience by developing detailed floor plans, storefront elevations, 3D models, renderings, and presentations that transform design concepts into tangible, store-specific solutions.
• Ensure design integrity and brand consistency by meticulously applying established brand standards and global design guidelines across a vast network of North American retail locations.
• Drive project success by expertly managing multiple store design initiatives concurrently, guiding them through every phase of the project lifecycle.
• Uphold design excellence through rigorous review of architectural drawing sets, construction documents, and shop drawings, ensuring accuracy and strict adherence to design standards.
• Leverage your expertise in AutoCAD and other advanced design tools to produce and revise precise drawings.
• Translate visionary ideas into clear, compelling visuals by creating sophisticated 3D models, renderings, and presentation materials.
• Orchestrate seamless project execution by coordinating with third-party consultants, ensuring design deliverables are accurate, on schedule, and within budget.
• Influence key decisions by participating in project meetings and confidently presenting innovative design solutions and recommendations to diverse cross-functional partners.
• Foster strong partnerships with construction, purchasing, visual merchandising, store operations, and other internal and external stakeholders to achieve shared goals.
• Act as a proactive problem-solver, identifying potential issues that could impact project schedules, costs, functionality, or design integrity, and proposing effective solutions.
• Demonstrate agility by quickly adapting to changing business priorities, evolving store prototypes, and incorporating new materials or design requirements.
• Champion design integrity, skillfully balancing it with operational efficiency, construction realities, budgetary constraints, and broader business needs.
• Continuously elevate design standards by staying current on the latest retail design trends and integrating relevant knowledge into project work.

Must-Have Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Interior Architecture, Interior Design, or a closely related discipline from an accredited institution.
• Approximately 3-5 years of relevant professional design experience, with a strong preference for retail project experience.
• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and SketchUp.
• Working knowledge of Enscape, InDesign, Photoshop, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
• Strong 3D modeling, sketching, rendering, and presentation capabilities.
• Ability to create, read, interpret, and review architectural and design drawings.
• Experience managing several projects simultaneously while maintaining strong attention to detail.
• Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to work independently, take ownership of assignments, and proactively move projects forward.
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, consultants, and project stakeholders.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications

• Previous experience supporting large-scale retail programs, multi-location store rollouts, or established retail brands.
• A comprehensive understanding of the broader store design process, extending beyond drafting expertise to include project coordination, design development, stakeholder communication, and execution.
• The judgment and initiative to independently manage projects and drive work forward, while also being comfortable receiving direction.
