COSS County Administrative Assistant

The County Administrative Assistant is a member of the staff of the North Carolina Cooperative Extension ( NCCE). The County Administrative Assistant's primary responsibility is to provide support to the County Extension Director and other staff as assigned. The County Administrative Assistant cooperates with colleagues in the NCCE and county leaders in performing assigned responsibilities. The performance of assigned responsibility is governed by the philosophy, objectives, policies, and procedures of the NCCE.

The County Administrative Assistant position provides office support and leadership, under supervision, to the Extension staff and does related work as required to support educational programs in a variety of areas including some data entry and office supply management. Responsibilities include providing administrative support for the County Extension Director and other staff/program areas including Agriculture, Natural Resources, 4-H and Family and Consumer Science. Position interacts with other county departments (Human Resources, Finance, Budget, Facility Services, etc.) to ensure effective relationships with county government. The County Administrative Assistant will work with the County Extension Director to develop and effectively manage the county and NCSU Extension budget and on-going financial procedures as well as maintaining grant fund budgets.

Graduation from high school and two years of related experience; or graduation from a two-year secretarial science or business administration program and one year related experience

An extensive knowledge of computer applications is required including Word, Excel,

Google Suite, and must have a willingness to learn new relevant software programs as

they become essential.

Administrative/clerical experience in an office environment. Experience in budget management and compliance with financial guidelines .

Valid Driver's License and reliable, personal transportation required. Valid North Carolina

driver's license is required within 60 days of hire and must be maintained
