Flow USA is expanding its capabilities and investing in the future to meet growing customer demand. As part of this growth, we are seeking a Quality / Process Engineer - Metrology to play a critical role in strengthening our calibration and laboratory operations. This position helps ensure our growth is supported by robust quality systems, reliable measurement data, advanced calibration capabilities, and a highly skilled workforce. As a key member of the Quality and Continuous Improvement team, this unique hybrid role combines quality engineering, metrology, and laboratory quality management expertise to drive operational excellence and support strategic business objectives.

What is the role about?

The Quality / Process Engineer - Metrology role is a unique hybrid position that combines quality engineering and metrology expertise into a highly collaborative visible and impactful function. Serving as a key resource within the Quality and Continuous Improvement team, this individual will be responsible for coordinating and maintaining the laboratory quality management system for Flow USA Greenwood calibration facilities, including testing, certification, accreditation, calibration capability, and audit readiness in accordance with ISO 17025 and American National Standards Institute (ANSI)/National Conference of Standards Laboratories International (NCSL) Z540 requirements. Applies quality assurance and quality control methods to support strategic and operational objectives, maintain accreditation across applicable standards, and support daily operational quality needs. This position provides the opportunity to build and advance Flow USA's metrology and quality capabilities. You will play a key role in calibration-rig development, laboratory accreditation, technical competency programs, proficiency testing, and quality improvement strategies while partnering across departments and with global experts to deliver innovative, audit-ready solutions that support continued growth.

Which tasks will you perform?

You will:

• Support calibration rig installation projects, including accreditation readiness, in cooperation with Flowtec Headquarters.
• Analyze, evaluate, and document measurement uncertainty and laboratory calibration capability.
• Establish and maintain competency matrices for metrology, technical personnel, and operators; identify related training needs.
• Coordinate participation in global Flow USA round-robin and proficiency testing programs required for laboratory accreditation.
• Support certification compliance across the Integrated Management System, including ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 17025, ISO 45001, and related standards.
• Support internal audit programs, including Integrated Management System (IMS), Layered Process Audit (LPA), Training Within Industry (TWI), Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain (5S), and related audit activities.
• Participate in process improvement teams focused on internal, customer, and supplier quality Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
• Work closely with the Quality Assurance (QA) Lab to support calibration management compliance.
• Support daily nonconformance resolution related to certificates, traceability, First Pass Yield (FPY), and related quality issues.
• Assist with root cause analysis and corrective actions for internal process failures, customer complaints, third-party findings, recordables, and related issues.
• Participate in global networks and related activities as required, including Calibration, M2NC2, ANC2, Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), and Quality networks.
• Expected travel: approximately 5-10%, domestic and international, including potential headquarters in Switzerland, supplier, customer, accreditation, or network activity.

What do we expect from you?

You:

• Strong working knowledge of ISO 17025, ISO 9001, and ANSI/NCSL Z540 requirements.
• Demonstrated ability to perform metrology tasks and technical assignments with a high degree of accuracy and skill.
• Strong project administration, coordination, and follow-up skills.
• Strong communication, presentation, technical writing, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
• Experience with structured problem-solving and continuous improvement methods, including 8D, Plan, Do, Check, Act (PDCA), and 5 Whys.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Guide to the Expression of Uncertainty in Measurement (GUM) Workbench.
• Internal ISO auditor certification preferred.
• Working knowledge of Manufacturing Execution Systems and SAP preferred
