Production Supervisor

Responsible for supervision of Production personnel to safely plan, coordinate, train and motivate employees in order to offer the best products to MSI customers. Provides Production personnel with continual process improvement to ensure consistent quality of products for MSI's customers. Works with Production personnel to understand and build strong relationships to build an effective team. Able to "walk the talk", prioritize, react positively to pressure and be ethical in deeds on a daily basis.

• Directly supervises the day to day activities of Production personnel. Establishes and maintains a work environment that provides for personal and professional growth and development. This environment is to be a positive, collaborative and supportive one. Mentors employees within department. Assists them with setting and meeting goals, and identifying areas of training needed.
• Participates in staff planning, interviewing and selection, and performance evaluations.
• Serves as the liaison between the Pre-Production, Production Manager, and hourly staff to ensure the use of consistent and best practices for Manufacturing Orders. Communicates with other supervisors and Production departments to ensure effective manufacturing of MSI's products.
• Oversees each department for work quality and on-time delivery for all customers, including same day orders.
• Initiates and sends out daily broadcast communication requirements in regards to late shipments and calculated shop hours.
• Along with the Production Manager and Operations Manager, responds to all lead-time requests from Sales or Customer Service.
• Keeps employees informed of changes and developments that affect their jobs and performance. Motivates individuals to promote an environment of continual improvement through teamwork and cooperation.
• Complies with MSI safety procedures and practices. Emphasizes importance of safety to employees. Ensures all materials are stored properly and comply with safety procedures.
• Assists in coaching new Team Leaders and aid the Production staff to be meet goals of Marking Services. Focused on what is best for company.
• Works with the Production Manager and other MSI staff to identify solutions to improve service to our customers and to pinpoint process improvements. Assists Production Manager in efforts to reduce the production costs and employee overtime.

There is a moderate risk of injury. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. Work hours are generally during normal business hours and average at least 40 hours a week. May require some additional hours. Some business travel may be required.

• Associates Degree in Business Mgt preferred
• Not less than 3-5 years prior experience in leading a production team
• Advanced understanding of production functions and processes, MSI products, MOP
• Must possess exemplary communication skills, coaching skills and good business judgment.
• Ability to effectively communicate information and respond to questions from the production staff, sales and pre-production staff.
• Ability to gather, analyze and interpret detailed information.
• Ability to effectively supervise employees and delegate work. Proven ability to mentor and develop direct reports and be willing to provide hands-on leadership.
• Must be able to balance and achieve positive results in the areas of quality, accuracy, timeliness, reliability, productivity and housekeeping.
