What You Need to Know:

Responsible for the management of equipment department to include equipment system and staff. Manage all activities related to preventative maintenance, corrective maintenance, calibration and repairs for complex biomedical equipment. Manage qualification on all types of biomedical equipment. Responsible for validation master plan. Maintain positive and supportive business relationships with operating departments. Provide support, development and/or leadership guidance to all volunteers.

Perform all duties and responsibilities in compliance with standard operating procedures and other applicable Federal, State and local regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage staff including hiring, training, evaluation, and counseling to ensure a well-qualified team and operational success.
• Manage activities related to scheduled preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, repair and other maintenance activities on basic and complex biomedical equipment. Develop documents such as job plans, protocols, Validation Master Plan, and other documents as applicable.
• Manage qualification activity and temperature mapping, ensuring proper documentation. May execute and review qualifications as needed. Develop, implement, and monitor corrective actions for problems and regulatory observations. Ensure compliance with ARCBS directives, state and federal regulations, and AABB standards.
• May serve as System Administrator for the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) used to track and maintain records on biomedical equipment. Conduct technical reviews, manage data, generate reports, participate in change management activities, review and approve documents.
• Assist in inter-departmental training on regulatory procedures and Computerized Maintenance Management System.
• Participate in budget development. Monitor expenditures to ensure adherence to budget.
• Ensure that operational departments have sufficient operating equipment based on pending equipment repair/replacement to conduct collections and manufacturing operations. Perform other related duties as necessary to support organizational, regional/divisional and departmental business and quality goals.

Location: Fully remote; may require travel to various ARC sites.

Compensation: Note that American Red Cross salaries are aligned to the specific geographic location in which the work is primarily performed. Other factors that may be used to determine your actual salary may include your specific skills, how many years of experience you have and comparison to other employees already in this role.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED:

• Bachelors degree required.
• Five years related experience in biomedical and electronics principles required; or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Three years supervisory and budget oversight experience required.
• A valid driver's license with a good driving record.
• Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with co-workers, medical staff, and the general public.
• Comprehensive knowledge of e-mail, database management, spreadsheet, and work processor applications.
• Requires flexible schedule to work nights, weekends, and holidays if needed.
• Ability to take support calls if needed.
• Ability to comprehend and follow both written and oral instructions.
• Ability to maintain neat and accurate records.

Combination of candidate's education and general experience satisfies requirements so long as the total years equate to description's minimum education and general experience years combined (Management experience cannot be substituted).
