AI Application Administrator, Information Services

This professional information technology position is responsible for the administration, coordination, adoption, and training resources and assessment of enterprise AI platforms, including but not limited to Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, Google Gemini, and Claude.

This role serves as the organization's primary AI application subject matter expert, staying current on emerging capabilities, vendor roadmaps, licensing options, security considerations, and best practices.

The position works closely with many groups, including Information Security, Compliance, and unit stakeholders to evaluate AI features, determine appropriate enablement strategies, and drive effective adoption through training, communication, and user support.

• Administer and support enterprise AI platforms and services.
• Configure, maintain, and monitor AI application settings, integrations, licenses, and access controls.
• Evaluate new features, releases, and roadmap updates from AI vendors.
• Coordinate testing, pilot programs, and feature rollouts.
• Maintain documentation, standards, and operational procedures for AI platforms.
• Partner with Information Security and Compliance teams to assess risks and controls.
• Recommend which AI features, plugins, connectors, and capabilities should be enabled, restricted, or disabled.
• Monitor emerging AI risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
• Develop, deliver, and assess AI training programs for faculty and staff.
• Create role-based learning materials, guides, FAQs, videos, and workshops.
• Promote responsible and effective AI usage across the organization.
• Provide consultation and support for users adopting AI tools.
• Measure adoption and identify opportunities to increase utilization.

• Experience with Microsoft 365 Copilot, ChatGPT Enterprise, Google Gemini, Claude, or comparable AI platforms.
• Experience with professional development/developing training resources in information technologies.
• Knowledge of AI governance, security, privacy, and compliance practices.
• Experience in higher education, government, or other regulated environments.

The anticipated hiring range for this position has been established as $65,000 to $80,000 annually.

Salary is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to, the individual's particular combination of education, skills, and experience, as well as organizational requirements.
