Operations Supervisor - RT Welding

The Operations Supervisor for RT Welding must possess an energetic and positive attitude and be willing to change and develop as requirements of assigned tasks dictate.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

Responsible for daily assignments and overall coordination of employees to ensure maximum performance, efficiency and quality of functions
• Requires ability to effectively organize and assign work to hourly employees such that safety, quality, schedule and cost objectives are met
• Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, improve work order span times, streamline work processes and work cooperatively to provide quality
• Must have knowledge of safe work practices; ability to comprehend and follow and issue verbal and /or written instructions; willing to work as necessary to support production needs
• Must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with subordinates and supervisors
• Must have the ability to set, assign, and measure daily production goals, provide technical expertise, instruct, mentor and motivate crew
• Successful applicants will be placed in a department and shift based on business needs

This position is to support 2nd shift.

This position is located at the Quonset Point facility in North Kingstown, RI.

Required:

• Minimum of 1 year related Electric Boat welding experience
• Minimum of 3 year combined relevant welding experience and leadership experience in a construction setting
• Minimum of 1 year EB experience and an Engineering degree in a related field
• Must be available to work all shifts, including extended hours and weekends as business needs dictate
• Must possess strong PC skills including proficiency with the MS Office suite
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance through the department of defense

Preferred:

• Minimum of 3 years in RT welding
• RT/UT welding experience
• Vocational, Technical and Community Colleges or Apprentice programs
• MDU graduate
• Previous supervisory/leadership experience
• Prior NDT experience
• Experience with ATA, EWP and AWPSS
• Navy/military experience

• Good organizational, presentation and communication skills
• Ability to interact with various levels of employees in the organization
• Demonstrated leadership skills
