Environmental Scientist I

RK&K is seeking an Environmental Scientist I. This position specializes in the management of projects that improve our environment. We are looking for versatile, self-sufficient, motivated individuals to help support our construction management and inspection efforts on construction projects. Like-minded prospective employees should have an environmental or engineering background, technical acumen, and the soft skills necessary to effectively manage construction projects in sensitive locations.

Required Experience

• Bachelor's degree in relevant field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction inspection and/or management.
• Knowledge of federal and state regulations regarding environmental compliance. Ability to understand and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Ability to travel and work long hours (paid overtime) outside in a construction environment.
• Ability to work independently with limited daily oversight, and to communicate effectively across different platforms with project management, clients, stakeholders, and contractors.
• Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills.

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Preferably construction inspection and management experience in stormwater management, environmental restoration, and utility construction.
• OSHA 10-hour trained.
• Technically proficient in Microsoft Office suite software, portable device use, and construction photography.
• DNREC Certified Construction Reviewer
